Drugs – Delhi Police dismantles cross-border narcotics network, four arrested
Drugs – Delhi Police has uncovered an international narcotics network operating in the capital, arresting four individuals and seizing drugs estimated to be worth around Rs 1.1 crore. Officials confirmed that the operation led to the recovery of cocaine and MDMA, exposing a supply chain that extended beyond India’s borders.

Arrests reveal international links
The arrested suspects include Mohammad Hasan, 23, from Shastri Nagar, and Razia from Mandawali, along with two foreign nationals identified as Diouf Solomon, also known as Oskar, from Senegal, and Bemah from Liberia. According to police, the group played different roles within the network, including distribution, transportation, and supply of narcotics.
Authorities said the arrests highlight how international connections are increasingly being used to facilitate drug trafficking in metropolitan areas.
Tip-off leads to first breakthrough
The investigation began on March 25 when police received specific intelligence about Hasan’s involvement in selling MDMA. Officers were informed that he would deliver a consignment near the Chitra Vihar Jhuggi traffic signal in Preet Vihar.
Acting swiftly, a police team set up surveillance in the area and successfully apprehended Hasan during the planned exchange. His arrest became the starting point for uncovering the broader network.
Supply chain traced to key supplier
During questioning, Hasan revealed that he sourced MDMA from a supplier known as Oskar. The deliveries were reportedly made at varying locations along the Outer Ring Road near the Sriniwaspuri area, making it difficult for authorities to track consistent patterns.
Based on this information, police conducted a targeted operation on the night of March 27–28. A trap was laid near a subway along the same route, leading to Oskar’s arrest. Subsequent searches at his residence resulted in the detention of his associate, Bemah.
Local distribution network identified
Further interrogation of Hasan provided crucial details about the distribution chain within Delhi. He disclosed that he supplied the drugs to Razia, who then sold them at a higher price in local markets.
Police teams carried out a raid in Mandawali on Sunday, resulting in Razia’s arrest. Officials noted that this link completed the chain from international suppliers to local distribution points.
Details of drug trade operations
Investigators found that Hasan initially came into contact with the drug trade as a consumer. He reportedly met Oskar in the Ashram area and began purchasing small quantities of MDMA, typically around 0.5 grams for Rs 1,500.
Over time, he transitioned into a reseller, buying drugs in bulk and distributing them to Razia. She then sold individual packets at approximately Rs 2,200, generating profit margins at each stage of the supply chain.
This progression from user to distributor reflects a pattern often seen in urban drug networks, where individuals are gradually drawn deeper into illegal activities.
Seizure and ongoing investigation
Police recovered a total of 120.18 grams of cocaine and 36.86 grams of MDMA during the operation. The combined value of the seized substances is estimated at Rs 1.1 crore.
Officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify additional links and possible buyers connected to the network. Authorities are also examining financial transactions and communication records to trace the broader scope of operations.
The case highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in tackling organized drug trafficking, particularly when it involves international coordination and local distribution channels.
