On Monday, 228 flights—131 departures and 97 arrivals—were canceled due to poor visibility, while five aircraft were rerouted to neighboring airports, according to authorities. Air Quality in Delhi-NCR Today
According to CPCB statistics, Delhi’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was 378 at approximately 8 am on Tuesday, putting it in the “very poor” category. The city was still dealing with dangerous air conditions. Compared to Monday, when the AQI hit 427 in the afternoon and was classified as “severe,” this was a little improvement.
Even with the little improvement, pollution levels across a large portion of the nation’s capital remained dangerously high. A dense layer of harmful haze covered the whole city, drastically impairing visibility and making people uncomfortable.
