Crime – Self-Styled Godman Arrested for Alleged Triple Murder in Delhi
Crime – Delhi Police have arrested a man accused of killing three people by allegedly serving them poison-laced sweets under the pretext of conducting a ritual that promised sudden financial gain. The suspect, identified as Kamruddin, also known as Baba, had been operating what investigators describe as a fraudulent tantric centre in parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Accused Ran Tantric Centres in Uttar Pradesh
According to police officials, Kamruddin was active in Loni and Firozabad, where he projected himself as a spiritual healer capable of performing rituals to bring prosperity. Investigators allege that he specifically targeted individuals seeking financial improvement, assuring them of “dhanvarsha,” or unexpected monetary benefits, through special ceremonies.
Officers said the accused would first win the trust of his targets before manipulating them psychologically. Once he gained their confidence, he allegedly offered them sweets laced with poison. After the victims lost consciousness, he would steal their cash and valuables.
Authorities have described him as a repeat offender, noting that he had previously been linked to serious criminal cases in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Bodies Discovered Inside Vehicle
The three victims were found dead inside a vehicle on Sunday. During a forensic inspection of the car, police recovered several items, including liquor bottles, soft drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, helmets, jackets, Aadhaar cards, personal belongings, and cash. The discovery of these materials has become a key part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials confirmed that all three deceased individuals had traveled to Loni in Ghaziabad district a day before their bodies were discovered. On the day of the incident, they returned to Loni and remained in regular contact with Kamruddin.
Technical Evidence Tracked Accused’s Movements
Police said that technical surveillance and call data analysis indicated that a fourth person had been inside the vehicle while it was on its return journey. Further examination of electronic evidence allegedly placed Kamruddin in the car during that period.
Investigators believe he boarded the vehicle in Loni and later exited before abandoning it at the location where the bodies were ultimately found. The matter came to light shortly afterward, prompting a detailed probe.
Alleged Plan to Extract Cash Through Ritual
During questioning, Kamruddin reportedly told investigators that he first came into contact with the woman victim about two months earlier through an acquaintance named Salim. The woman later introduced him to two other men, identified as Shiv Naresh and Randhir.
Police said he persuaded the trio to participate in a special “pooja” that he claimed would bring financial prosperity. As part of the arrangement, he allegedly asked them to bring Rs 2 lakh in cash along with liquor and soft drinks for the ritual.
According to the police statement, the accused prepared sweets mixed with poison before joining them in their vehicle. During the journey, he allegedly served them alcohol, soft drinks, and the contaminated sweets. Once all three victims became unconscious, he is believed to have taken the cash and fled the scene.
Investigation Continues
Law enforcement officials stated that the case remains under investigation, with further forensic and technical analysis underway. Authorities are also examining whether the accused may have been involved in similar offences in the past.
The arrest has once again highlighted concerns about fraudulent spiritual practices and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals seeking financial relief. Police have urged citizens to remain cautious and verify the background of individuals offering miraculous financial solutions.
