Recent Similar Incident in Chamba
The latest accident comes only weeks after another devastating road tragedy in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district. In that incident, seven members of a family lost their lives after their vehicle reportedly went out of control and plunged into a deep ravine along the Chamba-Masrund road.
Police teams, assisted by local residents, carried out an extensive rescue operation after receiving information about the accident. All seven victims, including three women and four men, were recovered from the gorge and later sent for postmortem examinations.
According to officials, the victims belonged to the same family from Kuthed village. Local representatives said they were returning home late at night after attending a family dinner when the accident occurred. Residents from nearby areas joined rescue personnel in recovering the bodies before they were transported to Chamba Hospital.
The two incidents have once again highlighted the dangers associated with driving on hilly roads, particularly in regions where steep slopes and winding routes require extra caution. Authorities continue to urge motorists to drive carefully and follow road safety guidelines while travelling through mountainous terrain
