Politics – Rahul Gandhi Criticizes BJP, RSS and Raises Voting Concerns

Politics –  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleging that their ideology is weakening the foundations of the Indian Constitution. Speaking at a public rally in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also raised concerns over the integrity of the electoral process.

Allegations Against BJP and RSS

Addressing the gathering, Gandhi claimed that the political philosophy promoted by the BJP and the RSS is rooted in division and hostility, which, according to him, threatens the democratic structure of the country. He argued that such an approach undermines constitutional values and erodes public trust in governance.

Gandhi further accused the two organizations of engaging in practices that compromise free and fair elections. Without providing specific instances, he alleged that “vote theft” is taking place, suggesting that electoral transparency is being compromised. According to him, such actions weaken democratic institutions and reduce public confidence in the electoral system.

Concerns Over Democratic Institutions

The Congress leader emphasized that democracy relies on strong institutions and accountability. He warned that any attempt to manipulate electoral outcomes or suppress dissent could have long-term consequences for the nation’s democratic fabric.

Gandhi also stressed the importance of protecting constitutional principles, stating that these values are essential for maintaining equality and justice in society. He urged voters to remain vigilant and participate actively in the democratic process to safeguard these ideals.

Criticism of West Bengal Government

While targeting the BJP and RSS at the national level, Gandhi also turned his attention to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal. He questioned the state government’s performance, particularly in the area of employment generation.

Referring to earlier promises made by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Gandhi said that the government had committed to creating jobs for a significant number of people. However, he claimed that the reality on the ground paints a different picture.

Unemployment Figures Highlighted

Gandhi pointed out that a large number of young people in the state have reportedly applied for unemployment allowance. He cited figures suggesting that millions of youth are seeking financial support due to lack of job opportunities.

According to him, this indicates a gap between promises and delivery, raising concerns about economic opportunities for the younger population. He emphasized that employment remains a key issue that requires immediate attention from the state administration.

Focus on Voter Awareness

Throughout his speech, Gandhi encouraged citizens to carefully evaluate political claims and hold leaders accountable. He stressed that elections are not just about choosing representatives but also about shaping the future direction of governance.

He called on voters to consider issues such as employment, transparency, and constitutional values while making their decisions. Gandhi’s remarks come at a time when political parties are intensifying their campaigns ahead of upcoming elections in the state.
