Trump : said Norway “foolishly” rejected him the Nobel Peace Prize, despite his claims to have stopped eight conflicts
Trump: Although the Nobel Peace Prize “doesn’t matter,” US President Donald Trump insisted that he had “single-handedly ENDED 8 WARS” and felt that Norway, the nation that hosts the Nobel Peace Prize event, had wrongfully denied him the honor.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the main concern for him was that he had “saved millions of lives,” and he criticized Norway for what he saw as a stupid choice to deny him the honor. Throughout the address, he called the prize the “Noble Peace Prize.”
Trump said that American might under his leadership restored global deterrence and demanded respect from foes, linking his foreign policy record to US military might. He added, “The only Nation that China and Russia fear and respect is the rebuilt U.S.A.,” attributing the advancement of peace and the avoidance of larger confrontations to that military reconstruction.
Trump has regularly compared his record to previous Nobel Peace Prize winners and said he earned the honor for his diplomatic efforts during his first term, especially in the Middle East.
Trump attacked US partners in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization once again in the same article, claiming that a number of its members had not fulfilled their defense expenditure commitments until he put pressure on them to do so. The United States has been “foolishly paying for them” for years, he added, adding that donations only grew following his involvement.
Trump said that Norway, a founding member of NATO, benefits from US security assurances while, in his opinion, failing to acknowledge his contribution to maintaining peace.
Trump also made generalizations about Russia and NATO, saying that without US backing, Moscow does not fear the alliance and that he has prevented a full-scale Russian annexation of Ukraine.
Trump wrote parts of the tweet in capital letters, claiming that “Russia would have all of Ukraine right now” if he hadn’t gotten involved and that “Russia and China have zero fear of NATO without the United States.”
He also questioned if NATO would support the US if it were threatened, restating his assertion that the US is the only nation that China and Russia “fear and respect” since its military was strengthened under his leadership.
