Trump : “A wise choice” advises Venezuela to buy exclusively goods produced in the United States
Trump: On Wednesday (local time), US President Donald Trump made a significant announcement: Venezuela would henceforth use the funds from the new oil agreement only to buy American-produced goods.

The US President said in a post on Truth Social that the purchases will include American agricultural goods, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and equipment to upgrade energy facilities and the electric infrastructure, among other things.I just learned that, with the money they get from our new oil deal, Venezuela will only buy American-made goods. Among other things, American-made medications, medical equipment, and agricultural products will be purchased in order to upgrade Venezuela’s energy facilities and electric grid. To put it another way, Venezuela is making the decision to make the United States of America its primary trading partner. This is a smart move that will benefit both the American people and the Venezuelan people. I appreciate you taking the time to consider this.”On Truth Social, he said.
Trump’s remarks came just days after the United States conducted a “large-scale strike” in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on Saturday in an attempt to apprehend Nicolas Maduro, the country’s now-former president, and his wife, Cilia Flores.
In a coordinated effort by US law enforcement and intelligence services, Maduro and Flores were airlifted out of the nation. They are now on trial after being charged with “drug trafficking and narco-terrorism conspiracies” in the Southern District of New York.
According to CNN, Delcy Rodriguez, Maduro’s vice president, formally took over as Venezuela’s acting president after they were apprehended.
Leavitt said that the Trump Administration is in “close correspondence” with Venezuela’s interim government during a White House news conference earlier on Wednesday. He emphasized that American participation and influence continue to guide their choices. The Venezuelan interim government is in frequent communication with the Trump Administration. Clearly, we now have the most influence on Venezuela’s interim government. “The United States will continue to dictate their decisions,” Leavitt said.
Trump had earlier said that the United States would receive between 30 and 50 million barrels of sanctioned oil from Venezuela’s interim government. He added that although the oil would be sold at market value, Trump would control the money to make sure it was used for the benefit of both the American and Venezuelan people.
