Taiwan : spots seven navy vessels and nine Chinese aircraft missions in the immediate vicinity
Taiwan: As of 6 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense discovered nine Chinese military aircraft flights and seven naval vessels cruising its territorial seas.

Five of the nine sorties entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern ADIZ after crossing the median line.
“Up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today, nine PLA aircraft sorties and seven PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected,” the MND said in a statement on X. According to Focus Taiwan, the US Senate enacted the Porcupine Act to expedite US defense sales and facilitate the transfer of military hardware to Taiwan by US allies.
Last Monday, the Senate unanimously approved the law, which is officially known as the Providing Our Regional Companions Upgraded Protection in Nefarious Environments Act. It will now be discussed in the US House of Representatives. Before becoming legislation, it will be sent to the president for signing if it is approved in the same form.
Taiwan is now one of the nations eligible for shortened notice and reporting periods for weapons acquisitions under the law, which changes the weapons Export Control Act. According to Focus Taiwan, it also aims to speed up licensing processes for US allies looking to transfer military hardware to Taiwan.
