Mansoor bin Mohammed : discusses the DSC Board meeting’s plans for the first World Sports Summit
Mansoor bin Mohammed: The World Sports Summit organized by the Dubai Sports Council, according to Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, is a new chapter in Dubai’s sporting calendar that reflects the emirate’s steadfast dedication to fostering a better future for all people.
Under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sports,” the unique event will take place at the Madinat Jumeirah through December 29 and 30. It is being organized under the direction and sponsorship of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
More than 1,500 distinguished attendees, including leaders and decision-makers in the sports industry, international sporting stars and legends, and representatives of international sports federations and organizations, are expected to attend the event’s inaugural edition, which is envisioned as an extraordinary global platform.
Sheikh Mansoor, who chaired a meeting of the Dubai Sports Council’s Board of Directors, expressed optimism that the new athletic platform will contribute to global cooperation. “In the context of Dubai’s approach to hosting global platforms that make a difference in diverse fields such as government work, leadership and artificial intelligence, among others, we are proud to present a new global summit in the sports sector, which embodies the vision of our leadership in promoting sports as a positive force that transcends borders, a driver of development, and an effective tool in building a better future for humanity,” Sheikh Mansoor said.
Along with the members of the Board of Directors—Ali Al Mutawa, Ahmed Al Khaja, Ismail Al Hashemi, and DSC Secretary-General Saeed Hareb—Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), also attended the meeting. Sheikh Mansoor examined the planning for the first World Sports Summit, which aims to showcase Dubai’s initiatives to provide a uniting forum for international discussion while influencing the direction of sports.
“The World Sports Summit marks the beginning of a new phase and the culmination of a period of exceptional institutional work and qualitative achievements for the sports sectors in the UAE and the region,” the statement reads. Additionally, it marks the start of a new era that joins global efforts to grow this crucial industry in a manner that benefits society and mankind and establishes more defined foundations for the future of sports,” Sheikh Mansoor said.
“The summit will be a global platform that brings together leaders and decision-makers to discuss the current state of sports and anticipate its future trajectories, whether in terms of governance and professional management, developing athletes’ performances, building integrated systems for training and infrastructure, attracting and nurturing talent, or utilising artificial intelligence applications to advance the sports system,” he stated.
Examining the World Sports Summit’s preparations, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor praised the efforts made by different teams to organize the summit’s first edition. The summit will bring together prominent figures from various national Olympic committees and international federations, organizers of international events, and sports stars and legends who have helped establish sports as a force for social and economic empowerment and as a driver of humanitarian causes with global impact. “Dubai is fully prepared to host the global event thanks to its advanced infrastructure, qualified national competencies, and exceptional organizational acumen across diverse sectors,” Sheikh Mansoor informed the various event teams.
During the meeting, it was announced that all organizational elements of the summit were set up, including plans to welcome eminent speakers and visitors prior to the official opening of the event, as well as their involvement in related activities and events organized by the Dubai Sports Council.
