The discussion took place between Sibi George, Secretary (West) in India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Khaled Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General responsible for regions including the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific. Both officials reviewed a range of global issues, with particular attention given to enhancing cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping efforts.
According to details shared by India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, the interaction was described as constructive and wide-ranging. Peacekeeping emerged as a central theme, reflecting India’s long-standing involvement and continued interest in contributing to global stability through multilateral frameworks.

Separately, Sibi George also met Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu at Lok Niwas earlier in the month. While details of that interaction were limited, it formed part of his broader schedule of official engagements.
