Simbu Marks Completion of Demanding Film Schedule

Actor Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, has officially announced the successful completion of a major filming schedule for director Vetrimaaran’s highly anticipated action film Arasan. The actor shared the update on Saturday through his social media platforms, expressing gratitude to the entire production team after wrapping up one of the film’s most challenging phases.

Along with the announcement, Simbu posted a short behind-the-scenes video where he is seen shaking hands with director Vetrimaaran. As the moment unfolded, the film’s cinematographer informed the crew that the schedule had concluded and thanked everyone for their commitment throughout the demanding production.

Simbu also mentioned that after weeks of working exclusively during the night, he was looking forward to taking a break, recovering from the hectic routine, and preparing for the next stage of filming.

Months of Night Shoots Tested the Actor

The completed schedule followed an intense period that began on April 25, during which the cast and crew primarily filmed throughout the night. Earlier this month, Simbu had humorously revealed that the prolonged night schedule had completely disrupted his biological clock.

Sharing his experience on social media, the actor joked that more than two months of continuous overnight work had left his circadian rhythm thoroughly confused. Despite the physically demanding routine, filming continued without interruption until the latest schedule reached its conclusion.

Action Sequences Were a Major Focus

Before announcing the schedule wrap, Simbu had given fans a glimpse into the production by posting a photograph alongside director Vetrimaaran and renowned stunt choreographer Peter Hein. The update confirmed that the team was then concentrating on filming large-scale action sequences, hinting at the film’s action-packed narrative.

The project has consistently generated excitement due to the collaboration between experienced technicians and leading performers, with expectations growing as more production updates are released.

Production Resumed After Earlier Delay

Work on Arasan had resumed in April after production was temporarily halted because of a dispute involving producer Ishari K. Ganesh and Simbu over an advance payment connected to an earlier film project that never entered production.

Once the issue was resolved, filming restarted in Chennai with a lengthy shooting schedule. Reports at the time indicated that actors Yogi Babu and Priyanka Arul Mohan would also participate in this phase of production.

The film’s first schedule had previously concluded in Kovilpatti in December last year before the temporary interruption.

Star-Studded Team Raises Expectations

Arasan has attracted significant attention for several reasons. It marks the first collaboration between Simbu and acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran, a combination that has created considerable interest among cinema enthusiasts. The project is being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, one of Tamil cinema’s most established producers.

The excitement increased further after the makers confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi would also be part of the cast. Alongside him, the film features Samuthirakani, Andrea Jeremiah, Kishore and several other prominent actors in important roles. The music is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Promotional Video Introduced an Intriguing Storyline

The promotional teaser released earlier offered audiences a unique introduction to the film’s narrative. It featured director Nelson appearing as himself while Simbu described a story involving real incidents, murders and ongoing court cases, urging that appropriate disclaimers be used because many events were still under legal consideration.

The teaser later shifted into a courtroom setting where Simbu’s character denied involvement in multiple murders despite dramatic visuals suggesting otherwise. The makers also indicated that the story would explore an untold chapter connected to the world established in Vada Chennai, further increasing curiosity surrounding the film.

With another major schedule now complete, Arasan has moved an important step closer to its eventual theatrical release, as fans eagerly await more updates from the production team
