Recruitment – Andhra Pradesh Begins Major Power Utility Hiring Drive for 629 AEE Posts
Recruitment – The Andhra Pradesh government has officially launched a large-scale recruitment campaign to strengthen its electricity infrastructure by filling hundreds of engineering vacancies across key power utilities.

The Andhra Pradesh government has started the recruitment process for 629 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) positions across different power sector organisations. The initiative, announced under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is intended to improve the efficiency of the state’s electricity network while also delivering on the coalition government’s commitment to generate employment opportunities through its Job Calendar.
Recruitment Notifications Released
Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar announced that the official recruitment notifications for the AEE vacancies were issued on Wednesday. He said the appointments are aimed at addressing long-pending vacancies in engineering departments responsible for electricity generation, transmission and distribution across the state.
According to the minister, the recruitment drive reflects the government’s focus on strengthening public institutions through a transparent selection process while creating meaningful employment opportunities for qualified engineering graduates.
Vacancies Distributed Across Power Utilities
A total of 629 Assistant Executive Engineer posts have been allocated among five major power sector organisations. APTRANSCO will recruit 200 AEEs, while APGENCO has announced 100 vacancies. APSPDCL will fill 134 positions, APCPDCL has 60 vacancies, and APEPDCL will recruit 135 Assistant Executive Engineers.
The recruitment is expected to support the operational requirements of these utilities by enhancing technical manpower across essential engineering services.
APSPDCL Recruitment Schedule
Among the utilities, APSPDCL has announced the recruitment of 125 Assistant Executive Engineers in the Electrical discipline. In addition, six Civil Engineering posts and four Telecom Engineering positions will also be filled.
The organisation has scheduled the online application process from June 30 to July 27, giving eligible candidates nearly a month to submit their applications through the prescribed online system.
Recruitment Details in Other Utilities
APCPDCL will recruit 56 Assistant Executive Engineers in the Electrical stream, along with three Civil Engineering positions and one Telecom Engineering vacancy.
APGENCO has announced plans to appoint 80 Assistant Executive Engineers in Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics disciplines. Another 20 vacancies have been reserved for Civil Engineering candidates.
Meanwhile, APTRANSCO will recruit 167 Assistant Executive Engineers in Electrical Engineering, 23 in Civil Engineering and 10 in Telecom Engineering.
APEPDCL has also released vacancies for 128 Electrical Engineers, four Civil Engineers and three Telecom Engineers as part of the statewide recruitment programme.
