Justice – Public anger intensified in south Delhi on Tuesday as hundreds of residents, relatives, and friends gathered in Chhattarpur following the death of a teenager who had been critically injured in a shooting incident linked to a dispute at a restaurant in Amar Colony. The victim passed away on Monday after several days of medical treatment, leading to widespread calls for justice and stricter action against those involved.
Community Protests Erupt After Victim’s Death
After the teenager’s body was returned to his family following a postmortem examination, a large crowd assembled outside his residence. Mourners expressed grief and frustration over the incident, demanding severe punishment for the accused. As emotions escalated, protesters moved onto nearby roads and crossed police barricades that had been set up in anticipation of unrest.
Authorities reported that demonstrators temporarily blocked traffic routes in the area. The gathering drew participation from people across different age groups, including a significant number of women, reflecting the widespread concern among local residents.

Police officials confirmed that the fourth suspect remains at large, but efforts to locate and arrest him are continuing. Investigators have also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting, along with the vehicle allegedly connected to the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsh Indora stated that investigators are working to ensure that all available evidence is presented before the court. He added that authorities are exploring legal provisions that could allow the juvenile accused to be tried as an adult, subject to judicial review and applicable laws.
Officials emphasized that strengthening the case remains a priority and that every effort is being made to ensure accountability. The investigation continues as police work to complete arrests and gather additional evidence related to the shooting.
