AI-Based System Transforms Police Complaint Process

In a notable step toward modern policing, authorities in Kanker district have rolled out an artificial intelligence-powered complaint management system aimed at simplifying how citizens interact with law enforcement. The initiative seeks to eliminate long-standing procedural hurdles and make the reporting process more user-friendly.

A central feature of the system is a WhatsApp-based interface that assists users in filing complaints with ease. Once a complaint is registered, individuals receive a unique identification number, allowing them to track progress in real time. The system also ensures that complainants are notified automatically when their cases are resolved.

Beyond convenience, the platform introduces an internal monitoring mechanism. An AI-driven dashboard enables officials to evaluate response times and overall efficiency, helping improve accountability within the department. Citizens are also encouraged to share feedback on their experience, which authorities say will be used to refine services further.

High Court Strengthens Right to Private Religious Practice

In a separate development, the Chhattisgarh High Court has delivered a ruling reinforcing the constitutional right to religious freedom. The court clarified that individuals hosting prayer meetings within their private homes do not need prior approval from authorities.

The judgement came in response to a petition filed by residents of Janjgir-Champa district, who alleged repeated interference by local police during peaceful Christian gatherings held at their residence since 2016. The court observed that police intervention based solely on the act of prayer, without evidence of disturbance or unlawful activity, was not justified.

By emphasizing the principles of privacy and equality, the ruling sets a clear precedent regarding the limits of administrative authority in matters of personal faith. It also places responsibility on state officials to ensure that such rights are respected and protected without unnecessary intrusion.

Record Achievement in Rural Housing Construction

On the development front, the state government has reported a milestone in rural housing delivery, completing over six lakh homes during the 2025–26 financial year. This figure represents the highest number of rural housing units constructed by any state within a single year.

The achievement is attributed to the coordinated implementation of multiple welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin, PM JANMAN Yojana, and the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. According to official data, nearly 5.87 lakh houses were built under PMAY-G, while approximately 13,000 units were completed under the PM JANMAN initiative. An additional 10,000 homes were delivered through the state’s own housing scheme.

Officials have credited consistent monitoring and adherence to deadlines for the successful execution of these projects. Measures have also been taken to ensure transparency in beneficiary selection, along with maintaining construction quality standards.

Focus on Transparency and Citizen-Centric Governance

Taken together, these developments highlight a broader administrative approach centered on improving governance through technology, safeguarding individual rights, and accelerating welfare delivery. The introduction of digital tools in policing, judicial reinforcement of civil liberties, and large-scale infrastructure initiatives indicate a concerted effort to address both systemic challenges and citizen expectations.

As these initiatives continue to unfold, their long-term impact will likely depend on sustained implementation and public engagement. However, the recent measures signal a clear intent to modernize systems while upholding democratic values.
