Rajasthan: Weather Alerts Issued as Rain and Hailstorms Affect Several Districts

Rajasthan: The state weather office has issued fresh warnings for parts of Rajasthan as changing atmospheric conditions bring rain, thunderstorms, and the possibility of hail to multiple districts. Officials say the shift in weather is linked to a new western disturbance, which has altered temperature patterns and increased cloud activity across the region.

Alerts Issued Across Multiple Districts

According to the Meteorological Department, yellow and orange alerts have been announced for nearly 20 districts, cautioning residents about rain accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms. The orange alert, which signals the potential for more intense weather, has been issued for six districts: Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Sikar, Bharatpur, and Dausa. Authorities have indicated that these areas may experience stronger storm activity over the next several hours.

A yellow alert has also been placed on 15 other districts, including Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Bundi, Alwar, Nagaur, Ajmer, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Tonk, Baran, Kota, Jhunjhunu, Bhilwara, Jhalawar, and Dholpur. In these locations, residents are advised to remain cautious as rainfall and thunderstorms are expected, along with gusty winds.

Recent Rainfall Patterns Across the State

Weather observations from the past 24 hours show light rainfall in a few areas of eastern Rajasthan, while most parts of western Rajasthan remained largely dry. Despite the limited spread of rain so far, cloud cover has increased steadily, raising the likelihood of further showers in many districts.

Intermittent rainfall has been reported since Tuesday morning in several places, including the state capital, Jaipur. Similar conditions were observed in districts such as Alwar and Sawai Madhopur, where brief spells of rain were accompanied by overcast skies.

Temperature Variations and Cold Conditions

The recent weather system has also affected temperature levels across Rajasthan. Maximum temperatures remained relatively moderate, with Pali recording the highest at 27.5 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, minimum temperatures dropped sharply in some areas, with Alwar reporting a low of 4.5 degrees Celsius.

Over the last 24 hours, most cities in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Sirohi registered 7.9 degrees, Jaisalmer 8.6 degrees, Nagaur 8.7 degrees, Pali 8.4 degrees, and Phalodi 9.8 degrees. These readings indicate a continued cold spell, particularly during early morning and nighttime hours.

Fog, Cold Winds, and Regional Impact

Cold day conditions were noted in parts of the Jodhpur division, adding to the discomfort caused by the drop in temperatures. Light fog was also observed at isolated locations in eastern Rajasthan, reducing visibility during early hours. Weather officials noted that cold winds accompanying the rain have further intensified the chill in many districts.

Dense cloud formations remain present across large parts of the state, suggesting that weather conditions may remain unsettled in the near term. Residents have reported a noticeable change in the feel of the weather, with cooler air and intermittent showers becoming more frequent.

Wind Speeds and Public Safety Advisory

In addition to rainfall and thunderstorms, wind speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected in several districts under alert. The Meteorological Department has urged residents to remain cautious during periods of storm activity.

People have been advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms, seek shelter in safe locations, and avoid standing under trees or near loose structures. Authorities emphasized the importance of following safety guidelines to reduce the risk of injury during adverse weather conditions.

As weather patterns continue to evolve, residents are encouraged to stay updated through official forecasts and advisories issued by the Meteorological Department.
