Bangladesh: Bengal cannot become CM Banerjee is attacked by the VHP and BJP

Bangladesh: Following statements made by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officials accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of blocking federal agencies and supposedly caving in to a vote bank of Bangladeshi descent, political tensions skyrocketed on Saturday.

The harsh responses coincide with Mamata Banerjee’s recent demonstration against what she saw as excessive meddling in the state by constitutional authorities.

Vinod Bansal, the VHP’s national spokesperson, attacked the chief minister directly, claiming that “the exercise that Mamata ji is carrying out to turn Bengal into Bangladesh will never be successful.”She halted the CBI after first stopping the Income Tax Department. Additionally, she flees with documents and files if any agency takes action. What kind of attitude is this? According to Bansal, the state administration is weakening the rule of law.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya added to the criticism by claiming that CM Banerjee had prioritized political considerations above speaking out about the deaths of Hindus in Bangladesh.

“Mamata Banerjee is indifferent to the murders of Hindus in Bangladesh. Her vote bank, which consists of individuals of Bangladeshi descent, has benefited from financial backing from both internal and external sources ahead of the Assembly elections. “Under no circumstances does she want any investigation to proceed,” Somaiya said.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party will not tolerate any compromise in sending Bangladeshi nationals back,” he said, while asserting that the BJP will not make concessions on the illegal immigration problem.

Anand Dubey, a spokesman for the Shiv Sena (UBT), countered the accusations made by the Opposition by accusing the Center of using investigative agencies selectively against non-BJP administrations.

Only states that are not governed by the BJP are targeted by the ED and CBI’s chariot. Dubey accused political abuse of central agencies, saying, “It never moves in the direction of Gujarat or Maharashtra.”

After CM Banerjee protested an alleged raid connected to the Election Commission on Friday, accusing the Center of pressuring state officials and abusing constitutional institutions, there was a fresh political slugfest.
