Israel : attacks many Hamas and Hezbollah locations in Lebanon, including the country’s third-largest city
Israel: According to Israeli and Lebanese reports, Israel has launched airstrikes on many Hezbollah and Hamas locations in Lebanon, including the third-largest city in the nation.

Following an Israeli attack at about 1 a.m. on Monday (local time), video footage that went viral on social media showed significant damage and a massive cloud of smoke billowing over the seaside city of Sidon. Additionally, the attacks persisted until early Tuesday.
A commercial building in an industrial region of Sidon was demolished by the strike, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency. Although there were no early reports of deaths, Israel’s state-run Kan TV said that many individuals were hurt.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Tuesday morning that it had launched a round of attacks that started on Monday, targeting Hamas and Hezbollah locations throughout Lebanon. The strikes targeted a number of military buildings and weapons storage sites, both above and below ground, that Hezbollah utilized to develop its military capabilities and advance operations against IDF troops and the State of Israel, according to the military.
The raids also targeted Hamas weapons manufacturing facilities in southern Lebanon, the army claimed.
The Israeli military struck houses in four communities in southern Lebanon and close to the country’s eastern border Monday night. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an unexploded rocket blocked a road, four homes were demolished, and cars and stores suffered significant damage. Israeli airplanes conducted around ten attacks across the regions, according to a Lebanese security source.
Days before the Lebanese government was scheduled to convene to discuss its goal to disarm Hezbollah in regions close to the Israeli border, the strikes occurred.
Despite a truce between Hezbollah and Israel mediated by the United States and France that has been in place since November 27, 2024, the Israeli army has conducted attacks in Lebanon on occasion, saying they are intended to eliminate Hezbollah “threats.”
