VoterList – Uttar Pradesh Final Electoral Roll Shows Revised Voter Count
VoterList – The Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission has released its updated electoral roll after completing a detailed revision process, bringing the total number of registered voters in the state to 13.39 crore.

Significant Drop During Initial Revision Phase
The revised figures indicate a notable reduction compared to earlier records. When the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise began in October 2025, the state had approximately 15.44 crore voters on record. However, by the end of the first phase in early January 2026, this number had declined sharply to 12.55 crore.
Officials explained that this drop was part of a verification process aimed at removing duplicate, outdated, or ineligible entries. The updated final list now reflects a more accurate and verified voter base following months of scrutiny.
Fresh Additions Boost Final Numbers
Despite the initial decline, the final roll shows a net increase of over 84 lakh voters compared to the list published in January. This increase includes more than 42 lakh additional male voters and nearly the same number of female voters. A small number of third-gender voters were also added during this phase.
Importantly, over 14 lakh first-time voters were included in the updated roll, highlighting efforts to bring newly eligible citizens into the electoral system. The inclusion of young voters remains a key focus area for election authorities.
Gender Distribution and Youth Participation
The latest data shows that male voters account for 54.54 percent of the electorate, while female voters make up 45.46 percent. The number of registered transgender voters stands at 4,206.
Among young voters aged 18 to 19 years, the total count has reached over 17.6 lakh. While this reflects growing participation, the gender ratio of 834 women per 1,000 men suggests there is still room for improvement in achieving balanced representation.
Districts Leading in Voter Growth
Several districts recorded significant increases in voter numbers during the revision period. Prayagraj topped the list with an addition of more than 3.29 lakh voters. Lucknow followed with nearly 2.86 lakh new entries, while Bareilly, Ghaziabad, and Jaunpur also saw substantial growth.
At the assembly constituency level, Sahibabad reported the highest rise in voter numbers, followed by Jaunpur, Lucknow West, Loni, and Firozabad. These increases are attributed to both population growth and improved voter registration efforts.
Deletions Ensure Accuracy of Electoral Roll
Alongside new additions, authorities also removed a considerable number of entries to maintain the integrity of the voter list. Between January and April 2026, over 8.15 lakh names were deleted.
A large portion of these deletions occurred due to non-response to official notices sent during the verification process. Additionally, several names were removed because individuals had relocated, appeared multiple times in the list, or had passed away. A small number of entries were also deleted due to ineligibility, such as underage individuals or non-citizens.
Officials noted that notices had been issued to over 3.26 crore voters as part of the verification drive, ensuring a thorough review of records.
Improved Accuracy and Transparency
The election authorities emphasized that the revision exercise was aimed at improving transparency and ensuring that the electoral roll reflects genuine and eligible voters. The marginal improvement in gender ratio and the addition of young voters indicate progress, though challenges remain.
The final list is expected to serve as a reliable foundation for upcoming electoral processes in the state, with officials urging citizens to verify their details and participate actively in elections
