Background of the Incident

The incident occurred in a village located within the industrial belt of the Sikandrabad region of Bulandshahr district. The victim belonged to a family that lived in a rented building, which also housed the accused. According to preliminary findings, the child was playing on the terrace of the building when the crime allegedly took place. Later, she was found in a severely injured condition in an open plot near the premises.

Family members immediately rushed the child to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The sudden and brutal nature of the crime sent shockwaves through the community, with residents demanding swift and strict action against those responsible.

Allegations and Family’s Statement

The victim’s family alleged that the child was raped before being pushed off the roof. Her father lodged a formal complaint with the local police, accusing two men of committing the crime. Based on the complaint, authorities initiated a focused investigation to trace the suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the child’s death.

Police Investigation and Encounter

Following the registration of the case, the Sikandrabad police formed three special teams to locate the accused, identified as Raju and Veeru. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the teams traced their movement to an industrial area near Kanwara.

When officers attempted to intercept them, the suspects allegedly opened fire in an attempt to escape. According to police officials, a brief exchange of fire followed, during which both accused sustained gunshot injuries to their legs. They were subsequently apprehended and shifted to a hospital under police custody.

Recovery of Weapons and Evidence

During the arrest operation, police recovered two illegal firearms along with live and spent cartridges from the possession of the accused. These items have been seized as evidence and will form a crucial part of the ongoing legal proceedings. Authorities believe the recovery strengthens the case against the suspects and highlights the violent intent involved.

Medical Examination and Legal Process

The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to medically establish the cause of death and confirm allegations of sexual assault. Police officials stated that the final medical report will determine the additional legal provisions to be applied in the First Information Report. Investigators have indicated that further charges may be added once forensic findings are available.

Confession and Ongoing Inquiry

During preliminary questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. However, officials clarified that confessions alone are not sufficient and that the case will rely heavily on medical, forensic, and circumstantial evidence. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have assured that all procedural safeguards will be followed to ensure a fair and transparent trial.

Another Crime Highlights Broader Safety Concerns

In a separate but equally serious incident in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, an 18-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly killing a middle-aged man who attempted to sexually assault her. The victim, identified as Sukhraj Prajapati, was found dead in a house with fatal head injuries caused by a sharp-edged weapon. Police recovered the weapon, locally known as a farsa, and registered a murder case based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s family members.

Growing Debate on Crime and Justice

These incidents have reignited public debate around women and child safety, legal awareness, and the effectiveness of law enforcement mechanisms. Social activists and community leaders are calling for faster trials, stricter punishment for sexual crimes, and improved preventive measures to protect vulnerable sections of society.

While the law has taken its course in both cases, the incidents serve as grim reminders of the urgent need for social vigilance, responsible governance, and sustained efforts to create safer environments across both urban and rural areas of the country.
