The mother of the 13-year-old kid was the victim, who was named as Uma. For the previous two years, she had been living with the accused, Bilal, after divorcing her husband and kid. About 15 years ago, Uma and Johnny, who lived in Saharanpur, were married out of love. Her ex-husband claims that she started living alone after the pair split up and was divorced between one and a half and two years ago.

How was the case solved?
Police said that the deceased was murdered by her taxi driver lover, Bilal, who wanted to break up with her so he could be married to someone else. A woman’s decapitated, decomposing corpse was found by Yamunanagar Police on December 7 in fields near the Pratap Nagar police station on the Paonta Sahib highway. The fact that the deceased was discovered nude suggests that the murder was ruthless and planned. After the finding, CIA units and local police officials joined Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was headed by DSP Rajat Gulia.

The most difficult part turned out to be identifying the victim. No missing person report fit the description, despite police contacting districts in Haryana and the neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

After analyzing CCTV video from the Hathnikund barrage, detectives were able to identify a crucial lead. Furqan alias Bilal, a native of Tidoli village in the Nakur police station area of Saharanpur, was taken into custody by police six days later. Later on, he admitted to the murder.

The reason behind the crime
Bilal, the murder suspect, admitted to the police that he and Uma had been living together for the previous two years during their questioning. While Uma was urging him to marry her and rejecting his engagement, Bilal informed police that his marriage to another lady had been arranged. He was afraid that she might tell his family about their connection, which would put his upcoming wedding in danger. He apparently planned the murder out of this dread.

Investigators said that on the evening of December 6, Bilal drove from Saharanpur to pick up Uma under the guise of a trip to Himachal Pradesh. He reportedly killed her in the automobile close to Bahadurpur hamlet after arriving in Paonta Sahib and looking for lodging. He stripped her of her clothing, beheaded her corpse, and disposed of it next to the road to conceal her identity. The corpse was discovered around 20 meters off the major Paonta Sahib road, according to the police, with just the upper undergarments still on and the head detached from the torso.

According to the police, Bilal went back to his Saharanpur house after the murder and proceeded with getting ready for his impending wedding, going shopping as normal and acting as like nothing had occurred.

The police have detained the accused and are still investigating in order to gather the remaining evidence connected to the crime and finish the forensic procedures.
