Ghaziabad: Over 12,000 notices have been issued in four months as the Ghaziabad police crack down on encroachments
Ghaziabad: Using Section 152 of the BNSS, the Ghaziabad Commissionerate Police have begun a campaign in the district to combat people trespassing on public areas. In only four months, almost 12,000 individuals received notifications as part of the program.

Additionally, over 4,000 citizens have notified the police and cleared the encroachments. According to police officers, individuals find it inconvenient to occupy public areas. As a result, key markets and areas are always being watched. Police officers notify the offending party when they discover an incursion.
Near Chaupla Bazaar, shopkeepers staged a sit-in protest against the unlawful Peth Bazaar (weekly market). However, the market could not be established this time owing to stringent steps taken by the Municipal Corporation and the government. Since Saturday, the property has been fenced off by the authorities.
The Nagar Kotwali police and the Municipal Corporation’s City Zone firmly forbade the market’s establishment on Sunday morning. Over the phone from Lucknow, Mayor Sunita Dayal provided explicit orders that the market should never be permitted to be established.
After then, the illicit market was effectively stopped by the Municipal Corporation and the administration since they had planned ahead of time. According to local councilman Rajiv Sharma and trader leader Raju Chhabra, the protest would become more intense if an effort is made to open the market. They urged all merchants to band together and fight the illicit market, claiming that it has begun to spread all the way up to people’s houses and is seriously harming the public.
According to Haji Chaman and Imran Rizwan, the market prevents them from leaving their houses, and Sundays are particularly difficult for kids. Some ladies also created a disturbance at this period, but the dealers put an end to it.
A number of people attended the sit-in, including Pappu Lahoria, Anurag Garg, Sunil Chacha, Udayveer Ladi, Akash Katiyar, Praveen Sharma, Subhash Chhabra, Manveer Nagar, Anil Sanwaria, Suresh Mahajan, Sanjeev Loharia, Hari Mehta, Dharampal Kukreja, Dinesh Sisodia, and Subhash Bajrangi.
