Background of the Incident

The victim was identified as Vakil, also known locally as Leelu, a resident and farmer from Sultanpur village. On Monday afternoon, his body was found lying in agricultural fields located in the Bhadauli area. The discovery sent shockwaves through nearby villages, as Vakil was known to be a quiet individual focused on farming activities. Preliminary examination revealed severe head injuries, indicating a violent assault using a heavy object.

Discovery of the Body and Police Action

After the body was found, police teams quickly reached the spot and initiated standard legal procedures. Vakil’s son, Sameer, lodged a formal complaint, stating that his father had left home earlier and never returned. Based on the complaint and visible injuries, police registered a murder case and began collecting evidence from the scene, including forensic clues and witness statements from nearby fields.

Investigation and Emerging Clues

As the investigation progressed, officers traced the victim’s recent movements and personal connections. During questioning of locals, police learned about an earlier dispute involving Vakil and a man named Gulhasan. This information proved to be a turning point in the investigation. Call records and witness inputs suggested that tensions between the two had existed for several months.

Motive Behind the Crime

During sustained interrogation after his arrest, Gulhasan confessed to the killing. He stated that he suspected Vakil of troubling a woman who was his close acquaintance by repeatedly calling her. According to the accused, this issue had already led to a physical confrontation about six months earlier, but the matter was never formally resolved. The lingering resentment eventually turned into a motive for murder.

Sequence of Events on the Day of the Murder

On Sunday, Gulhasan allegedly asked Vakil to accompany him to a nearby field under the pretext of settling the dispute peacefully. However, once there, a heated argument broke out. The verbal clash quickly escalated into a physical fight. In a moment of uncontrolled anger, Gulhasan picked up a hammer and struck Vakil on the head. The blow proved fatal, and Vakil died on the spot. Panicking after the incident, the accused fled the area to avoid arrest.

Police Encounter and Arrest

According to Amit Saxena, police received credible information on Tuesday about the whereabouts of the absconding accused near the Bhovapur locality. Acting swiftly, multiple checkpoints were set up around suspected routes. Soon after, Gulhasan was seen approaching from the side of Muradnagar on a motorcycle.

Dramatic Turn During the Chase

When Gulhasan noticed the police presence, he attempted to escape by turning his motorcycle around, but the vehicle slipped on the road. Finding no way out, he allegedly fired at the police using a country-made pistol. Police responded in self-defense, during which Gulhasan was shot in the leg. He was immediately overpowered and taken into custody.

Recovery and Legal Proceedings

From the spot, police recovered the weapon used during the encounter, live cartridges, and the motorcycle. After receiving medical treatment for his injury, Gulhasan was formally arrested and sent to judicial custody. Officials confirmed that further legal procedures are underway, and the recovered evidence will play a key role during trial.

Conclusion

This case highlights how unresolved personal disputes and unchecked anger can lead to irreversible consequences. The swift action by police ensured timely justice and prevented the accused from evading the law for long. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and urged citizens to resolve conflicts through lawful and peaceful means.
