Ayodhya – President Droupadi Murmu Scheduled to Visit Ram Temple on March 19
Ayodhya – President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on March 19, according to Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde. Local authorities have begun extensive preparations to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly while maintaining regular access for devotees.

Preparations Underway for Presidential Visit
Officials in Ayodhya have intensified planning for the President’s arrival, with coordination meetings already taking place among various departments. District Magistrate Funde informed reporters that the event is being organised by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
He also confirmed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Ayodhya on Thursday to review arrangements and assess readiness ahead of the President’s trip. Senior officials, including the Commissioner, Additional Director General of Police, and Deputy Inspector General, have already met with representatives from different departments to ensure coordination across security, logistics, and public management.
According to the administration, all departments have received clear instructions and are working according to the plan to ensure the visit is conducted without disruption. March 19 also coincides with the first day of the Hindu New Year, making the occasion particularly significant for the temple town.
No Special Passes to Ensure Devotee Access
Authorities have announced that no VVIP or special passes will be issued during the President’s visit in order to avoid inconvenience for ordinary devotees. The district administration said the decision was taken to maintain fairness and allow regular worshippers uninterrupted access to the temple.
To manage the expected crowd, the temple will open its doors for darshan one hour earlier than usual on that day and will remain open until late at night. Officials said these extended hours are intended to accommodate the large number of pilgrims likely to arrive.
Darshan will continue normally throughout the day, except for a brief period when the President and accompanying dignitaries perform rituals inside the temple complex. Outside of this short interval, worship activities will proceed without interruption, ensuring devotees can continue their visits with minimal disturbance.
Security and Administrative Coordination
The administration has emphasized strong coordination among security agencies and civil departments. Multiple planning meetings have been conducted to discuss traffic management, crowd control, security protocols, and logistical arrangements.
Officials indicated that detailed operational plans are being implemented to ensure the safety of visitors, local residents, and the dignitaries attending the event. Authorities expect a large turnout due to the significance of the presidential visit and the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
Clarification on LPG Availability
During the media interaction, the district magistrate also addressed reports circulating about a shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in the district. He clarified that there is no shortage of domestic gas cylinders available to households in Ayodhya.
The clarification came after concerns were raised about LPG supply following developments in West Asia that reportedly affected the availability of commercial LPG cylinders.
Government Measures to Prioritise Household LPG Supply
Officials noted that the central government recently invoked provisions under the Essential Commodities Act to prioritise domestic LPG supply for households. As part of these measures, domestic LPG production has reportedly increased by around 25 percent.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said the entire domestic LPG output is currently being directed toward household consumption to ensure uninterrupted supply for families across the country.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has strengthened its monitoring system by operating a control room around the clock. The move is intended to closely track supply conditions and address any issues that may arise.
Authorities have reassured residents that essential services, including LPG availability for households, remain stable while preparations continue for the President’s upcoming visit to Ayodhya.
