Vehicle Lost Control Near Nahla Deviya Bridge

The accident occurred when the car was traveling from Mahmoodpur toward Deeg. Authorities said the incident took place close to the Nahla Deviya bridge, where the road bends sharply. Investigators suspect that the driver may have been unable to control the vehicle while navigating the turn at considerable speed.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suresh Chandra Rawat stated that the vehicle appears to have struck a roadside structure before overturning. Following the impact, the car toppled into a canal measuring roughly six meters in width. Officials indicated that the vehicle flipped again after hitting the water, worsening the situation for those inside.

Locals Attempt Rescue Effort

Two nearby residents who noticed the crash rushed to the scene without delay. They managed to pull the vehicle out of the canal, but despite their efforts, none of the occupants could be revived. The witnesses then informed the police, who arrived shortly afterward to secure the area and begin preliminary inquiries.

Emergency responders transported the bodies for post-mortem examinations to determine the precise cause of death. Police officials said further details would emerge following medical and forensic assessments.

Victims Identified by Police

Authorities identified three of the deceased as Rahul, 23, and his cousins Amit, also 23, and Mohit, 21. All three were residents of Baldevgarh and fell under the jurisdiction of the Mahavan police station. The fourth victim, believed to be a friend accompanying them on the journey, has not yet been formally identified. Officials said efforts are underway to confirm his identity and notify his family.

The group had reportedly set out earlier in the evening, though police have not disclosed the purpose of their travel. Investigators are examining whether speed, road conditions, or other factors may have contributed to the fatal accident.

Investigation Underway

Police teams are collecting evidence from the crash site, including vehicle debris and road markings, to reconstruct the sequence of events. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of driver error but noted that a final conclusion would depend on technical findings and witness accounts.

SP Rawat said that appropriate legal procedures are being followed and that the matter remains under active investigation. He also emphasized the importance of cautious driving, particularly on rural roads where sharp turns and limited visibility can pose significant risks.

Community in Mourning

News of the tragedy spread quickly in Baldevgarh, leaving families and neighbors in shock. Relatives gathered outside the victims’ homes as officials completed formalities. The sudden loss of four young lives has cast a pall over the area, with residents expressing grief over the incident.

Local authorities have urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and remain vigilant while driving, especially at night. Road safety remains a concern in many semi-urban and rural stretches, where infrastructure challenges can increase the likelihood of serious accidents.

Further updates are expected once the post-mortem reports are completed and the identity of the fourth victim is confirmed. Police said they are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
