IPL 2026: Only two Indians are in the Rs 2cr range of the 350-name auction list, with Green, Livingstone, and Venkatesh Iyer at the top
IPL 2026: auction shortlist, which includes 350 players who will be put up for sale at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16, was made public by the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, December 9. Of the 350 players, 240 are Indian, while the remaining 110 are from other countries. There are 238 uncapped players on the list, including 224 Indians and only 14 uncapped foreign players, in addition to 112 capped players. There will be 77 spots available, and each of the ten teams would have access to INR 237.55 crore.

Cameron Green, who oddly identified himself as a hitter, will be among the first round of batters, along with Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, and Prithvi Shaw. Only two Indians, Venkatesh Iyer, who will be in the second set of all-rounders, and Ravi Bishnoi, who will be in the fifth set of spin bowlers, were among the forty players who signed up at the highest base price of INR 2 crore.
The franchises will be very interested in a number of players in addition to Green, Iyer, and Bishnoi, including Liam Livingstone, George Linde, Jacob Duffy, Auqib Nabi, Jamie Smith, Wanindu Hasaranga, Rachin Ravindra, Prashant Veer, Tim Seifert, Josh Inglis, Jason Holder, Michael Bracewell, and Simarjeet Singh.
The teams with the largest purses, the Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 64.3 crore) and Chennai Super Kings (INR 43.4 crore), will play the most, needing to fill 13 and 9 spots, respectively. Sunrisers Hyderabad has ten open spots as well, but they only have INR 25.5 crore in their coffers. The Mumbai Indians, who have just INR 2.75 crore remaining to spend, will thus likely have a busy table during the uncapped and expedited rounds, exactly as the Sunrisers.
On Tuesday, December 16, the auction is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM IST (1 PM local time).
