IPL 2026: In SMAT, Urvil Patel of CSK smashes a 31-ball century, giving Gujarat an 8-wicket victory against services
IPL 2026: In the current Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 event, Gujarat defeated Services by eight wickets on Wednesday at the Gymkhana Ground with an outstanding century from Urvil Patel on 31 balls. With 12 fours and 10 sixes in his last innings of 37 balls, Gujarat’s skipper Urvil amassed an undefeated 119 runs. While pursuing a challenging objective of 183 runs, his strike rate was 321.62.

Gujarat finished the chase in 12.3 overs thanks to Urvil’s innings. His 31-ball century is the third quickest T20 hundred by an Indian player. In the Gujarat vs. Indore match in 2024, he achieved the quickest century for India in Twenty20 cricket with a hundred off just 28 balls.
Abhishek, the second-ranked Indian opener, scored a century off of 28 balls in the 2024 Punjab vs. Meghalaya match at Rajkot. Urvil’s 31-ball century placed him third.
During their 20 overs, Services scored 182/9. With 60 runs off 37 balls, including two sixes and seven fours, opener Gaurav Kochar made an outstanding contribution.
Hemang Patel (2/21) and A. Nagwaswalla (2/38) were two of Gujarat’s wicket-takers.
With six fours and three sixes, opener Aarya Desai hammered a 60 from 35 balls while chasing. Gujarat won handily in Hyderabad thanks to Urvil’s game-winning hit of 119*.
The wicketkeeper-batter replaced Vansh Bedi for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League. In three IPL 2025 games, Urvil scored 68 runs with an astonishing strike rate of 212.50.
