Weather Update: IMD Issues a Dense Fog and Cold Wave Alert for UP, Bihar; Snowfall Is Expected in JK, Uttarakhand

Weather Update:  According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there will probably be a significant decrease in temperature in a number of states in the coming days. According to the weather service, commuters may have hardships as a result of the heavy fog, which will significantly impair visibility, particularly in the morning. In these states, the lowest temperature is probably going to be less than 10 degrees Celsius. The southern states are predicted to experience mild to moderate rain, while the higher areas are likely to have snowfall. To prevent any problems, the IMD has encouraged the inhabitants to adhere to the rules and restrict their trips.

A number of northern states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Bengal, are expected to see a cold wave and a significant decrease in temperature in the coming days, according to the meteorological service, which also provided specifics. It is estimated that the lowest temperature in these states is around 10 degrees Celsius. In addition, a cold wave and heavy fog are predicted for a number of northern states.

In recent days, Delhi-NCR’s air quality has drastically declined, causing breathing problems and suffocation. All state governments have been directed by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to immediately ban outdoor sports in schools and other educational facilities. Residents have been instructed by the health ministry to use masks while engaging in outdoor activities and to minimize their trips.

Snowfall on Sunday night caused a sharp decrease in temperature in the higher areas of Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir. More snowfall and cold waves are predicted for these areas in the following days, according to the meteorological service. To avoid the rush, the IMD has recommended travelers schedule their trips appropriately.
