Weather – Delhi Sees Unseasonal Heat, Rain and Winds Expected Soon
Weather – Delhi experienced an unusual rise in temperature on Sunday, with daytime heat exceeding typical levels for this time of year. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city’s maximum temperature reached 36.2 degrees Celsius, which is notably above the seasonal average by 3.6 degrees.

Temperatures Rise Across Key Monitoring Stations
The warmer conditions were recorded across several major weather stations in the capital. Safdarjung, considered the city’s primary observatory, reported a high of 36.2 degrees Celsius. Other areas also saw elevated readings, with Palam registering 35.7 degrees, Lodhi Road at 35.1 degrees, the Ridge at 35.3 degrees, and Ayanagar touching 35.6 degrees Celsius.
Nighttime temperatures were also slightly higher than usual. The minimum temperature settled at 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is 1.7 degrees above normal for this period. These readings indicate a broader warming trend affecting both day and night conditions in the city.
Rain and Gusty Winds Forecast for Monday
Relief from the heat may arrive soon. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Monday, predicting light rainfall accompanied by gusty winds in parts of the capital, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. Such weather conditions are expected to bring a temporary dip in temperatures.
