“Tribute To Our Heroes”: PM Modi Discusses Param Vir Chakra Awardees’ Portraits at Rashtrapati Bhavan
“Tribute To Our Heroes”: The building of Param Vir Digha, a new gallery at Rashtrapati Bhavan that features portraits of all 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, is a great example of eschewing the “mentality of slavery” and bringing the nation together with “a new consciousness,” according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The new gallery, according to PM Modi, is a “tribute to the country’s indomitable heroes” who made the ultimate sacrifice for maintaining India’s integrity and unity.
British ADC pictures had previously been on show at the gallery where the Param Vir Dirgha was made. A significant step in letting go of the colonial attitude and proudly embracing the depth of India’s history, legacy, and ageless customs is the campaign to showcase photographs of Indian national heroes.
“These images of the nation’s unwavering heroes at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Param Vir Gallery are a moving homage to our country’s protectors. The country has once again paid tribute to the warriors who lost their life to preserve India’s unity and integrity and who defended the homeland with the highest sacrifices. He said in a post on X, “It is even more special to dedicate this gallery of the nation’s Param Virs to the nation in the dignified presence of the families of two Param Vir Chakra winners and other awardees.”
“Portraits of soldiers from the British era were on exhibit at the Rashtrapati Bhavan gallery for a considerable amount of time. Portraits of the nation’s Param Vir Chakra recipients have now been erected in their stead. An outstanding illustration of the effort to break free from the mindset of slavery and unite India with a new awareness is the building of the Param Vir Dirgha at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The government has named a number of the Andaman-Nicobar Islands group after Param Vir Chakra winners a few years back,” the PM said.
The gallery is a dynamic platform for our youth to engage with India’s legacy of bravery, PM Modi said. “The young will be motivated by this gallery to believe that self-assurance and perseverance are crucial to the country’s goals. He said, “I hope that this place will develop into a thriving pilgrimage site for the spirit of developed India.”
India’s highest military honor, the Param Vir Chakra, is given to those who exhibit the most bravery, valor, and selflessness during combat. On December 16, the gallery was opened in honor of Vijay Diwas. Every year on December 16, Vijay Diwas is celebrated to honor India’s resounding victory in the war of 1971, which resulted in Bangladesh’s independence.
