Tourism – Sanasar Tulip Garden Near Jammu Set to Welcome Visitors Soon

Tourism –  The much-awaited tulip garden in Sanasar Valley is preparing to open its gates to visitors in the coming days, marking a significant addition to Jammu’s growing list of tourist attractions.

Sanasar tulip garden opening soon

The Floriculture Department has confirmed that final inspections are underway, and the garden will soon be ready to receive tourists. Officials expressed optimism about a strong visitor turnout this season, supported by improved infrastructure and digital booking facilities.

Preparations Near Completion Ahead of Opening

According to officials overseeing the project, the garden has witnessed considerable development since last year. Director of the Floriculture Department, Vivek Modi, visited the site to review the blooming status of the flowers and overall readiness.

He noted that the garden is expected to open shortly after submitting a final assessment report. Authorities have introduced an e-ticketing system this year to streamline visitor entry and enhance convenience. This move is also aimed at managing crowds more efficiently.

Large-Scale Plantation Enhances Visual Appeal

Spread across approximately 35 kanal of land, the garden features over 200,000 tulips planted in 25 distinct varieties. The wide range of colors and species is expected to create a vibrant landscape that will attract both domestic and international tourists.

In addition to the tulips, the garden has been designed with aesthetic features to enrich the visitor experience. A central fountain has been installed, complemented by decorative lighting arrangements that are likely to make evening visits particularly appealing.

Authorities Expect Higher Tourist Footfall

Officials believe that the improved facilities and expanded floral display will contribute to a noticeable increase in visitor numbers compared to last year. The introduction of online booking is also expected to encourage more organized tourism and reduce on-site congestion.

The Sanasar Valley, already known for its scenic beauty and calm surroundings, is likely to benefit economically from the influx of tourists drawn by the tulip garden.

Tulip Tourism Expands Beyond Srinagar

The development of the Sanasar tulip garden comes as part of broader efforts to promote floriculture-based tourism across Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, the Chief Minister shared an early preview of the famous tulip garden in Srinagar, highlighting its vibrant colors even before peak bloom.

He commended the efforts of the gardening teams and floriculture officials for maintaining high standards in floral cultivation. The Srinagar garden, widely recognized as Asia’s largest tulip garden, continues to draw large crowds every year.

A Blend of Flowers Adds to Visitor Experience

While tulips remain the main attraction, similar gardens in the region often feature a mix of other seasonal flowers. These include daffodils, hyacinths, roses, and iris varieties, which together create a visually rich and fragrant environment.

Such diversity not only enhances the aesthetic value but also extends the blooming period, allowing tourists more time to plan their visits.

Boost to Local Tourism and Economy

The opening of the Sanasar tulip garden is expected to provide a boost to local businesses, including hotels, transport services, and small vendors. With improved accessibility and digital ticketing, the garden is likely to become a key highlight in Jammu’s tourism calendar.

Authorities are hopeful that this initiative will further strengthen the region’s reputation as a springtime destination known for its natural beauty and well-maintained gardens.
