Terrorism – J&K Police Uncover Long-Running Lashkar Module, Five Arrested
Terrorism – Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled an interstate network linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, arresting five individuals including two Pakistani nationals who had reportedly been evading authorities for over 16 years. The operation marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing counter-terror efforts in the region.

Long-Term Infiltration Comes to Light
According to officials, the two foreign militants—identified as Abu Huraira and his associate Usman, also known as Khubab—had infiltrated Indian territory more than a decade and a half ago. After entering the region, they allegedly established a base in Srinagar, operating discreetly while maintaining links with the terror outfit.
Investigators believe the duo managed to avoid detection for years with the help of local support networks. These individuals allegedly provided shelter, financial assistance, and logistical backing, enabling the militants to remain under the radar of security agencies for an extended period.
Local Network Played Key Role
Authorities confirmed that three residents of Srinagar have also been taken into custody for their role in assisting the militants. During interrogation, the suspects are said to have revealed crucial information that led to the identification and eventual arrest of the two Pakistani operatives.
Officials stated that the arrests followed a detailed investigation in which multiple individuals, including a woman, were questioned. The information gathered during these interrogations proved vital in piecing together the structure of the network and identifying its key members.
Widespread Searches Conducted
As part of the operation, security forces carried out coordinated searches at 19 different locations. These searches were conducted in collaboration with multiple agencies, highlighting the scale and seriousness of the investigation.
The authorities described the operation as carefully planned, with teams working simultaneously across locations to prevent any suspects from escaping or destroying evidence. The coordinated effort ultimately led to the successful dismantling of the network.
Arms and Equipment Recovered
During the raids, security personnel seized a significant cache of weapons and materials. The recovered items include four AK-47 rifles, pistols, hand grenades, and various electronic devices such as mobile phones and laptops.
Officials noted that the presence of such equipment indicates the operational capability of the module and its potential to carry out attacks. The seized electronics are currently being analyzed to gather further intelligence about the network’s activities and connections.
Link to Previous Investigations
The recent breakthrough comes months after authorities uncovered another interstate terror network connected to a blast in Delhi on November 11. Investigators are examining possible links between the two cases, as both involve organized support systems and interstate coordination.
Security agencies believe that dismantling such networks is crucial to preventing future attacks, as these modules often serve as logistical backbones for larger operations.
Continued Vigilance by Security Forces
Officials emphasized that the arrests reflect the ongoing vigilance of law enforcement agencies in tracking down long-standing threats. The case also highlights the importance of local intelligence and inter-agency cooperation in tackling complex terror networks.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to identifying and neutralizing all elements involved in such activities. Further investigations are underway to determine whether additional individuals are connected to the module or if there are links to other active networks.
