TempleManagement – Key Decisions Expected as Ram Temple Nears Completion

Final Phase of Construction Nears Completion

Ahead of the scheduled discussions, Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra indicated that the temple project has entered its concluding stage. The total cost of developing the grand complex is projected to reach approximately Rs 1,800 crore, underscoring the scale of the undertaking. With most structural work already finished, the focus is now shifting toward management and visitor arrangements.

Plans for Devotee Access to Auxiliary Temples

One of the major agenda items for the Trust meeting is expected to be the management of darshan facilities at the seven smaller temples within the complex. These include the Sapt Rishi temples located along the parikrama route. Authorities are considering opening these areas to devotees after the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations, which is likely to increase the flow of visitors within the premises.

Rethinking Religious Events and Ceremonies

Sources suggest that the Trust may introduce changes in how religious events are conducted at the temple going forward. Large gatherings and elaborate functions within the temple complex may be limited, with a preference for more traditional and restrained rituals. This approach is being considered to preserve the sanctity of the site and ensure smoother management of crowds.

Simpler Ceremonial Practices Likely

Flag-hoisting ceremonies at the auxiliary temples are also expected to follow a more modest format. The emphasis is likely to remain on maintaining a spiritually focused environment rather than hosting large-scale public events. These decisions are part of broader efforts to establish long-term operational guidelines for the temple.

President’s Visit Marks Key Milestone

The developments come shortly after President Droupadi Murmu’s recent visit to Ayodhya, where she participated in religious ceremonies and reviewed the progress of the temple construction. During her visit, she installed the Shri Ram Yantra, an important spiritual element, on the second and final level of the temple structure.

Installation Symbolises Completion

The placement of the Shri Ram Yantra is being viewed as a symbolic moment, marking the completion of the temple’s construction phase. Religious rituals associated with the installation were carried out by Vedic scholars from various regions, including southern India, Kashi, and Ayodhya, under the supervision of priest Ganeshwar Shastri.

Focus Shifts to Future Management

With construction largely complete, attention is now turning toward the long-term functioning and administration of the temple complex. The upcoming Trust meeting is expected to play a crucial role in defining policies related to visitor management, religious practices, and overall governance.

As Ayodhya prepares for an increase in pilgrim footfall, the decisions taken during this meeting are likely to shape the future of one of the country’s most significant religious landmarks.
