Politics – Naidu Signals Cadre Loyalty as Key to Future Leadership
Politics – In a firm message to party members, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday stated that only dedicated and loyal workers would be considered for leadership roles, underscoring a renewed focus on strengthening the party from the grassroots level.

Focus on Commitment and Discipline
Speaking at the 44th Foundation Day event of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) held at its central office, Naidu stressed that discipline, sincerity, and active engagement with people would define future leadership opportunities. He cautioned leaders against ignoring grassroots workers, making it clear that those who fail to respect cadre contributions would not be encouraged within the party structure.
Naidu also announced that the recognition and promotion of hardworking party members would be systematically monitored, ensuring that those who consistently contribute at the ground level are rewarded fairly.
Changing Political Landscape and Opportunities
Highlighting upcoming political developments, the Chief Minister referred to the proposed delimitation exercise, which could significantly increase the number of Assembly seats. He noted that this expansion, along with the expected implementation of 33 percent reservation for women, would open new avenues for aspiring leaders.
In this context, Naidu assured that the party would identify and support deserving candidates who have demonstrated long-term commitment to strengthening the organisation. He emphasized that these changes should be viewed as opportunities to bring more dedicated individuals into public service.
Strengthening Public Connection
Naidu urged party workers to maintain close contact with the public, listen to their concerns, and work proactively to address local issues. He said that the strength of the party lies in its connection with people and that governance must deliver visible benefits at the grassroots level.
He added that a strong political organisation contributes directly to the development of the state, encouraging workers to uphold the party’s values and maintain its public image through responsible conduct.
Reflecting on Party Legacy
Looking back at the party’s journey, Naidu spoke about both achievements and challenges faced over the years. He acknowledged periods of political difficulty and credited party workers for their resilience and unwavering support during such times.
He paid tribute to members who made personal sacrifices, including those who lost their lives or livelihoods while working for the party. According to him, such contributions have played a crucial role in shaping the party’s identity and strength.
Welfare Initiatives and Governance Focus
Naidu highlighted several initiatives introduced by previous TDP governments, noting that many of them later became models at the national level. These included subsidised food schemes, reforms supporting women’s property rights, reservations in local governance, and the formation of self-help groups that benefited numerous families.
He reiterated that the current government continues to focus on welfare and inclusive development. Key programmes include enhanced pensions, initiatives aimed at empowering women, and targeted support for farmers and fishermen.
Employment and Development Plans
On the economic front, the Chief Minister said the government has already facilitated more than six lakh job opportunities. He added that efforts are underway to generate up to 20 lakh jobs through industrial expansion and investment-driven growth.
Naidu also reaffirmed that electricity tariffs have not been increased and assured that the government intends to maintain this approach in the future.
Infrastructure and Future Vision
Discussing major development projects, he pointed to the ongoing work on the Polavaram project and the plan to develop Amaravati into a world-class capital city. Both projects, he said, are targeted for completion by 2028 and are central to the state’s long-term growth strategy.
Taking a critical view of political rivals, Naidu stated that attempts to weaken the party have failed in the past and will continue to do so. He encouraged party workers to actively counter misinformation and remain focused on organisational strength.
