Through a post on social media platform X, he suggested that the state’s voters are increasingly aligning with his party and moving away from the ruling Trinamool Congress.

The video shared by the Prime Minister, lasting just over a minute, shows large gatherings of people greeting him with cheers and slogans. In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed that a change in leadership is necessary for the state’s progress. He argued that while other parts of the country are advancing rapidly, West Bengal is lagging behind due to current governance.
He further stated that the formation of a “double-engine” government, referring to the same party being in power at both the state and central levels, would accelerate development and bring stability. According to him, such a shift would mark the beginning of a new phase for the state.
Election Schedule and Campaign Intensity
The rally took place as election activities in West Bengal continue to intensify ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls. Voting is scheduled to be conducted in two phases, with polling set for April 23 and April 29.
The first phase will cover 152 constituencies, while the remaining 142 seats will go to the polls in the second phase. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4, which will determine the next government in the state.
