Allegations Over Unkept Welfare Promises

Addressing party workers and local residents, Kumar questioned why key welfare commitments announced during the Assembly elections have not been implemented. He referred specifically to the promise of a Rs 4,000 monthly pension for senior citizens, financial support in the form of 10 grams of gold for newly married women, distribution of scooters to girls, and the release of dearness allowance for employees.

According to Kumar, many retired employees are still waiting for their pensions, while young people continue to struggle for job opportunities. He argued that the delay in rolling out these schemes has created dissatisfaction among several sections of society.

The Union Minister also raised concerns about civic infrastructure. He pointed to what he described as poor maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and drinking water supply in villages and municipalities. He further claimed that basic community facilities, including burial grounds and temple development works, have not seen adequate progress under the current administration.

Growing Political Friction in the State

Kumar said that public disappointment is becoming more visible and that trust in the present government is weakening. He remarked that voters had earlier rejected the Bharat Rashtra Samithi out of frustration and chosen Congress with expectations of change. However, he alleged that those expectations have not been met even after two years in power.

He suggested that this dissatisfaction may influence voting patterns in the forthcoming municipal elections, with some residents now considering support for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Kumar maintained that his party is positioning itself as an alternative that can ensure continued development in urban local bodies.

The Union Minister also commented on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent public statements, describing them as reflective of political anxiety. Kumar claimed that the Chief Minister’s remarks indicate concern over the BJP’s rising influence in local civic contests.

Remarks on Political Rivalries and Alliances

In addition to criticizing the Congress government, Kumar addressed comments made by Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. Owaisi had recently suggested that the BJP and Congress were similar in their approach. Responding to this, Kumar questioned whether there was any understanding between Congress leaders and the AIMIM leadership.

He alleged that Congress leaders were extending indirect support to AIMIM in certain municipal areas, including Karimnagar. Kumar raised questions about the allocation of party tickets and financial resources, claiming that Congress workers should reflect on how decisions were being made within their organization.

While making these assertions, Kumar did not provide documentary evidence but maintained that voters are closely observing political developments. He accused rival parties of attempting to prevent the BJP from gaining ground in municipal corporations and municipalities.

Civic Elections in Focus

The political exchanges underline the growing intensity of campaigning as Telangana prepares for local body polls. Municipal elections are often seen as an indicator of public mood between major Assembly contests, and parties are using them to test their organizational strength at the grassroots level.

Congress leaders have previously stated that their government remains committed to implementing welfare schemes in phases, citing administrative and financial processes. However, opposition parties continue to press for faster delivery and greater transparency.

With the elections approaching, development issues, welfare implementation, employment opportunities, and civic infrastructure are likely to remain central themes in public discussions. The coming weeks are expected to witness further campaigning and exchanges as parties seek to consolidate support across urban and semi-urban regions.
