PM Modi: will go to Oman for the last stop on his three-nation trip
PM Modi: At Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s invitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his last stop on his three-nation trip, which also covers Jordan and Ethiopia, in Oman on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Modi’s second trip to Oman will highlight the strengthening of the strategic alliance between India and Oman.
Given that the visit takes place on the 70th anniversary of India and Oman’s diplomatic ties being established, it takes on particular importance. In keeping with the high-level political interaction between the two nations, it also comes after Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s state visit to India in December 2023.

Important topics including trade and investment, energy cooperation, defense and security, technology, agriculture, and cultural exchanges are anticipated to be discussed. Additionally, the two leaders will discuss topics of mutual interest on a regional and global level.
Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary (Consular, Passport and Visa & Overseas Indian Affairs) in the Ministry of External Affairs, briefed the media before to the visit, stating that Prime Minister Modi will be returning to Oman for the second time after his February 2018 visit. He emphasized the long-lasting character of India-Oman relations, which are based on centuries-old interactions via marine commerce and interpersonal relationships.
“With His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, the Honourable Prime Minister will conduct a thorough examination of the full range of bilateral relations and share viewpoints on regional and global issues of shared interest,” Chatterjee said.
In order to fortify commercial and investment ties, he noted, Prime Minister Modi is also anticipated to speak to business executives from both nations at a business summit.
The Prime Minister will also engage with the Indian community in Oman, recognizing their contribution to bolstering bilateral relations and advancing Oman’s economy.
At the moment, India and Oman have a broad strategic alliance that is marked by strong collaboration in a variety of fields. With close cooperation in marine cooperation, energy security, and regional stability, Oman continues to be a significant Gulf partner for India.
It is anticipated that Prime Minister Modi’s visit would strengthen bilateral ties even further and provide India-Oman cooperation new impetus in the years to come.
