Operation Sindoor and the Dhwajarohan Utsav at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir were only two examples of the year’s striking mosaic of dedication, resolute leadership, developmental achievements, and focus on people.

Heartfelt engagements with residents, trips to holy sites, targeted outreach to border areas, the opening and examination of significant infrastructure projects, and involvement in grassroots empowerment initiatives were all highlights of the prime minister’s schedule.

Photographs of many of these incidents were posted to narendramodi.in, where they became popular and shaped the year’s visual memory.

The National Democratic Alliance, headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, won the Bihar Assembly elections handily, which was one of the most important political events of 2025.

With 202 of the 243 seats, the NDA easily defeated the Mahagathbandhan, headed by the Rashtriya Janata Dal, which only won 35 seats. For the record, incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took the oath of office.

On social media and in headlines, images of Prime Minister Modi alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar—including the now-famous ‘gamcha’ moment at the BJP headquarters after the overwhelming victory—dominated conversations.

Operation Sindoor was a pivotal moment of the year in terms of national security. India took robust military action against high-value terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after the heinous Pahalgam terror incident.

Prime Minister Modi presided over and participated in a number of high-level meetings with the Chiefs of the Armed Forces, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during this crucial period. He granted the Armed Forces “free hand” to take action against terrorist targets.

Following the successful conclusion of Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister spoke with staff members at Punjab’s Adampur Air Force Base and thanked them for their bravery and professionalism.

During Diwali, he also saw a magnificent display of air power atop the INS Vikrant in Goa, which represented India’s increasing aerial and marine might.

Strategic connectivity and infrastructure were key components of PM Modi’s 2025 agenda. The Prime Minister holding the national flag while visiting the Chenab Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir was one of the most stunning pictures.

The world’s tallest railway arch bridge, the Chenab Bridge, is situated in the Reasi area and is 359 meters high—roughly 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower.

The bridge, which is located near the Pakistani border and offers all-weather train access between Kashmir and the rest of India, is a significant turning point for the area.

Another significant theme of the year was faith and cultural heritage. The holy “Dharma Dhwaja” was raised atop the spire of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Modi, Mohan Bhagwat, the leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Devotees across experienced passion, dedication, and a feeling of fulfillment as a result of the historic Dhwajarohan Utsav. The Prime Minister traveled to a number of holy places outside of Ayodhya.

He visited the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa and offered prayers at the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple in Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, the PM asked Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, the Chief of the Anuradhapura Atamasthana in Sri Lanka, for his blessings.

During Maha Kumbh 2025, he went the Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, Karnataka, meditated and did “darshan” and “puja” at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, and took a holy plunge at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.

Several images of PM Modi meeting foreign leaders attracted a lot of attention on the international scene.

The prime minister’s photos with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin were some of the most talked-about. In the midst of Washington’s tariff threats and changing global economic realities, the image of the three leaders enjoying friendly moments created a lot of internet discussion.

Another event that received a lot of attention was when PM Modi visited US President Donald Trump in Washington in February. “Mr Prime Minister, You are Great” was written in a book that President Trump gave to the Prime Minister at the White House, capturing the two leaders’ friendship in a striking way.

Beyond formality, there were also notable displays of personal warmth, such as when Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali personally took PM Modi to the Jordan Museum in Amman and when Jordan’s Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II personally drove him there.

Attention was also drawn to PM Modi’s interactions with US Vice President J.D. Vance’s family, especially his playful jokes with Vance’s kids at his home at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.

He met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Johannesburg, was greeted ceremoniously by Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam in Port Louis, had his plane escorted by Saudi Air Force jets during his visit to Saudi Arabia, and met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on the fringes of the 51st G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada.

When the Prime Minister arrived in Johannesburg, he was greeted with respect and given a standing ovation by the Ethiopian Parliament. In 2025, he received the top honors from many countries.

PM Modi’s interactions with kids and students repeatedly went viral during the year, demonstrating a more kind and intimate aspect of his leadership.

These pictures struck a chord with many, from the times when young girls tied rakhi on his wrist during Raksha Bandhan to his encounters with J.D. Vance’s kids.

Brief meets with kids in Chhattisgarh and his interactions with youngsters at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi during ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025’ also garnered notice.

A tiny youngster was seen meeting the prime minister while folding her hands in a “Namaste” in one very sweet moment. In a different incident, PM Modi treated a youngster at his workplace and had a humorous conversation with him.

Throughout the year, his love of animals was also apparent. Social media users were in amazement after seeing a picture of the prime minister at his official house with a calf. On World Wildlife Day, he went to Gir National Park in Gujarat, demonstrating his dedication to protecting wildlife.

PM Modi’s exchanges also touched on social inclusion and sporting accomplishments. He celebrated the accomplishments and tenacity of the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team players and met members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team after their World Cup victory.

The Prime Minister persisted in interacting personally with recipients of government initiatives at the local level. In 2025, he met people at the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a divyangjan at an event in Gaya, Bihar, farmers at a Krishi program in the nation’s capital, and inhabitants of Swabhiman Apartments in Delhi.

He also acknowledged the bravery and contribution of the ladies from Bhuj who, in the face of Pakistani bombardment during the 1971 war, rebuilt the local airfield in less than 72 hours.

When PM Modi gave Rampal Kashyap in Haryana a pair of shoes, it was one of the year’s most emotionally charged occasions and was characterized by humility and thankfulness. 14 years before, Kashyap had promised not to wear shoes till Modi was became prime minister.

In Dediapada, Gujarat, the Prime Minister also paid respect to the tribal icon’s legacy by meeting with a member of the Bhagwan Birsa Munda family.

Roadshows and mass outreach remained a major aspect of PM Modi’s public involvement. Throughout the year, he staged a number of roadshows, including a sizable one in Patna before to the elections for the Bihar Assembly.

The time a lady with a ‘aarti thali’ broke down in floods of happiness upon witnessing the Prime Minister at an Ahmedabad roadshow was another unforgettable moment that went viral.

The Prime Minister also took part in celebrations honoring the RSS’s 100 years of service to the country.

In New Delhi, he commemorated the event by releasing a coin and postal stamp that were specifically created.

He presented Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS, with flowers at Smruti Mandir when he was in Nagpur.

PM Modi went to the Christmas morning service at Delhi’s Cathedral Church of the Redemption at the end of the year. His adventurous 2025 trip came to a thoughtful and inclusive end as the group prayed for his health and strengthened the perceptions of leadership that included strength, faith, diplomacy, and a tight relationship with others.
