Mumbai: An ex-employee is being investigated for allegedly using cyber fraud to defame a media company
Mumbai: Vygr Media Pvt. Ltd., a media firm situated in Mumbai, has been implicated in a dramatic case of suspected computer fraud and revenge. Sonam Sameer Bhagat, the director of the business, has filed a severe complaint against a former employee, alleging that he attempted to harm the company’s name by stealing its digital assets and emailing customers offensive material.

The accused, according to the complaint, is Iman Jameel Turak (35), a resident of Nagpur who worked as a Lead Generation Specialist for Vygr Media Pvt. Ltd., which has its headquarters in Powai, Mumbai. Turak received a notice of termination on September 30, 2025, the business said, because to his poor performance. Police believe that after being fired, the accused harbored resentment and reportedly plotted to defame the business.
According to reports, the tragedy happened on December 23, 2025. Around 2:30 p.m., offensive images and content abruptly surfaced on the business’s website and official social media accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and others. The corporation launched an internal investigation after becoming alarmed by the events.
According to the inquiry, the accused reportedly obtained unauthorized access to vygrmedia@gmail.com, the company’s master email address. He is accused of sending offensive emails to customers using the company’s official business email addresses. Technical research further showed that the accused’s desktop computer in Nagpur was the source of all the questionable logins.
The director of the firm has provided the police with technical proof, such as screenshots of login credentials and other digital documents. Currently, legal action is being taken to file a complaint against the defendant under pertinent laws pertaining to data theft, cybercrime, and corporation defamation.
Following the incident, Vygr Media Pvt. Ltd. changed all system passwords and put multi-factor authentication into place to bolster its digital security procedures and stop any such breaches. The police are still looking into the situation.
