Victim Found Dead Near Khokarmoh Village

The deceased has been identified as Chand, also known as Guddu Tamboli. According to police, his body was found on the outskirts of Khokarmoh village on Monday morning by local residents, who immediately alerted authorities. Initial examination indicated severe head injuries, prompting investigators to register a case of murder and begin a detailed inquiry.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that Chand was to be married later the same day, making the timing of the killing particularly disturbing for both families and the wider community.

Money Dispute at the Center of the Crime

Investigators revealed that the incident stemmed from a long-running financial disagreement between Chand and his friend Atiq Tamboli. Chand had reportedly lent Atiq ₹1.5 lakh several weeks earlier and had been repeatedly asking for the money to be returned.

Police sources stated that tensions escalated when Chand allegedly warned Atiq that he would create a scene at Atiq’s wedding if the loan was not repaid. Officials believe this threat caused significant anxiety for the accused, who feared embarrassment in front of relatives and guests.

Alleged Murder Planned During Late-Night Meeting

According to information shared by the police and cited in media reports, Atiq is suspected of calling Chand to a secluded location late Sunday night under the pretext of resolving the dispute. During this meeting, Atiq allegedly attacked Chand, killing him by striking his head with a stone.

After the assault, the accused reportedly fled the area, leaving the body behind. The crime remained undiscovered until the following morning, when villagers noticed the victim lying motionless near the village boundary.

Investigation and Technical Surveillance

Police officials confirmed that a special investigation team was formed soon after the body was found. The probe involved technical surveillance, including mobile phone tracking, as well as inputs from local intelligence sources to trace the suspect’s movements after the incident.

Officers said these efforts helped narrow down the suspect’s location within a short period, allowing the police to act swiftly.

Accused Arrested, Remanded to Custody

The accused was traced to Beed city and taken into custody late Monday night. Police confirmed that he has been formally booked under murder charges. He is currently in police custody as investigators continue to gather evidence, record witness statements, and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the killing.

Authorities have stated that further details will emerge once the investigation progresses and forensic reports are reviewed.

Community Shocked by Incident

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, particularly due to the close relationship between the victim and the accused and the fact that the killing occurred just hours before a wedding. Police have urged the public to remain calm and assured that the matter is being handled with seriousness and due process.

Officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that all legal procedures will be followed before filing the final charge sheet.
