IndiGo – Airline Maintains Middle East Flights Despite Regional Security Concerns
IndiGo – IndiGo has announced that it will continue operating flights to several destinations in West Asia on Saturday despite the ongoing security tensions across the region. The airline issued a travel advisory confirming that limited services will run while authorities closely monitor the evolving situation.

Flights to Five West Asian Destinations Confirmed
According to the advisory, IndiGo plans to operate flights to five key airports in West Asia. These include Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah International Airport, Akrotiri Airport, and Fujairah International Airport.
The airline stated that these flights are being arranged carefully while taking into account safety conditions and regulatory permissions. Aviation authorities and airline teams are assessing operational feasibility continuously before each departure.
Return Flights for Indian Passengers
In addition to outbound flights from India, IndiGo will also operate return services from these West Asian destinations. These flights are expected to bring passengers back to major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
The airline noted that many travelers are still trying to complete their journeys and reunite with family members after travel disruptions earlier in the week. Over the past few days, IndiGo said its flights have helped many passengers return home safely.
Company officials acknowledged that several travelers remain stranded due to earlier cancellations and rescheduling caused by the unstable regional situation.
Airline Emphasizes Passenger Safety
IndiGo said the decision to operate these flights has been taken with passenger and crew safety as the top priority. The airline indicated that operations will continue only if prevailing security conditions and regulatory clearances permit.
In its advisory, the airline stated that its teams are actively working to assist customers whose travel plans have been affected. Support teams remain available to help passengers complete their journeys as safely and smoothly as possible.
The airline also reiterated that safety assessments are being carried out continuously and that any changes to schedules will depend on developments in the region.
Conflict in West Asia Disrupts Airspace
Flight operations across West Asia have faced disruption in recent days as tensions escalated following military actions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Airspace restrictions and security alerts have forced many airlines to cancel or reroute flights passing through the region.
The conflict began after joint military strikes by the United States and Israel targeted sites in Iran on February 28. The strikes reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and several US military installations located in West Asian countries. The ongoing confrontation has now entered its eighth day, raising concerns about further disruptions to international air travel.
Flexible Travel Options Offered to Passengers
Amid the uncertainty, IndiGo has introduced flexible travel policies for passengers scheduled to fly to or from the affected regions. The airline announced a full waiver on cancellation charges and rescheduling fees for flights connected to the Middle East and Istanbul until March 31, 2026.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight status updates before heading to the airport. IndiGo has also urged travelers to contact its customer support center for assistance with booking changes or travel inquiries.
The airline stated that it remains committed to helping passengers adjust their travel plans while continuing to prioritize safety during the evolving regional situation.
As tensions in West Asia continue to influence airspace operations, airlines and aviation regulators are expected to review flight schedules regularly to ensure safe travel conditions.
