HumanitarianAid – Kashmir Residents Rally Support for War-Affected Iran
HumanitarianAid – Kashmir has witnessed an extraordinary outpouring of public support for Iran, as residents across the region come forward to donate money, jewellery, and personal belongings to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Community-Led Donation Drives Across the Valley
In several parts of Srinagar and other districts, especially in areas with a significant Shia population, local groups have established collection centres to gather aid. These initiatives began after tensions involving Iran escalated into armed conflict with the United States and Israel, leading to damage to critical infrastructure.
At these centres, volunteers have displayed images of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as a symbol of remembrance and unity. People from different backgrounds, including both Shia and Sunni communities, have been visiting these locations to contribute whatever they can afford.
Emotional Contributions Reflect Deep Solidarity
Among the many acts of generosity, some gestures have deeply moved volunteers and onlookers alike. An elderly woman in Srinagar donated a pair of earrings that she had preserved for nearly three decades as a memory of her late husband. Despite their emotional significance, she chose to part with them to support those suffering in Iran.
In another instance, a young girl arrived at a collection centre with her savings accumulated over three years. She broke open her piggy bank and donated the entire amount without hesitation. Similarly, a young boy offered his bicycle, explaining that he wanted to contribute in honour of Iran’s leadership during difficult times.
Wide Range of Donations Collected
The contributions have not been limited to cash alone. Residents have donated gold ornaments, silver items, copper utensils, and even livestock such as sheep and goats. In some cases, individuals have handed over vehicles, including motorcycles, stating that material possessions can be replaced but humanitarian support is crucial in times of crisis.
One donor shared that offering his vehicle was a personal way of standing with Iran during a challenging period. He emphasized that such contributions, though small individually, collectively represent strong solidarity.
Support Extends Beyond Srinagar
The movement has spread beyond the Kashmir Valley into the Jammu region as well. In areas like Chanderkote in Ramban district, similar collection centres have been set up, attracting contributions from local residents eager to participate in the relief effort.
According to organizers, the initiative has seen widespread participation from people of all ages and communities. Volunteers managing these centres say the response has been consistent and encouraging, with many donors expressing a desire to help in any way possible.
Funds to Aid Reconstruction and Healthcare
Organisations coordinating the effort have clarified that the collected funds will be directed towards medical assistance for the injured, rebuilding damaged infrastructure, and supporting long-term recovery efforts in Iran.
The contributions are being consolidated and transferred through official banking channels linked to the Iranian embassy in New Delhi. Volunteers overseeing the process confirmed that a significant portion of the donations has already been sent.
Leaders and Public Figures Join Effort
Prominent voices in the region have also stepped forward to support the initiative. A legislator from Budgam announced that he would contribute one month’s salary to the relief fund. Community leaders have praised the collective response, calling it a reflection of humanitarian values and shared cultural ties.
Estimates suggest that donations worth several crores of rupees have already been collected. Organisers continue to encourage participation, noting that every contribution, regardless of size, adds to the overall relief effort.
Growing Message of Unity
Public figures have acknowledged the efforts, highlighting the importance of compassion during times of global conflict. The ongoing campaign has become a symbol of unity, demonstrating how communities can come together to support those facing hardship beyond their borders.
The initiative continues to gain momentum, with more people expected to contribute in the coming days.
