According to the Chief Minister, policy measures and infrastructure support are being strengthened to attract filmmakers and production houses.
The meeting also explored the potential for greater collaboration between the state government and the film certification body to encourage responsible and meaningful cinema. Dhami appreciated the efforts being undertaken by Joshi in his capacity as CBFC Chairman and expressed hope for continued cooperation in promoting creative industries in the state.
Expanding Film Opportunities in Uttarakhand
Officials familiar with the discussion said the government aims to leverage Uttarakhand’s scenic landscapes and cultural depth to draw more national and regional film projects. The administration has introduced film-friendly policies in recent years, focusing on streamlined permissions and logistical support for production teams.
By encouraging cinema rooted in local narratives, the state hopes to generate employment, strengthen tourism, and provide a platform for regional artists. The Chief Minister reiterated that cinema and literature play an important role in preserving social values and documenting heritage.

Cleanliness, Security and Infrastructure in Focus

Security preparations were also reviewed. The Chief Minister directed officials to deploy sufficient security personnel, including water police, to manage safety along the riverbanks and major congregation points. He instructed authorities to make use of modern surveillance tools such as drones and CCTV cameras to strengthen monitoring during the event.
Separate, comprehensive plans are to be drawn up for law and order, traffic regulation, parking facilities, and crowd management. With millions of devotees expected to attend, the government aims to ensure that infrastructure and emergency response systems are fully equipped to handle large-scale gatherings.
