Meeting Focused on Tribal Welfare and Youth Support

The interaction, attended by representatives of Janajati NGOs from different parts of Tripura, centered on education, child development, and community welfare. According to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the discussion aimed to strengthen cooperation between the state government and grassroots organizations working in tribal areas.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha expressed appreciation for the ongoing efforts of voluntary groups. He said their commitment to social welfare plays a significant role in preparing young people for the future. The Chief Minister assured participants that the state government would extend assistance within the framework of established rules and available resources.

He also informed the gathering that the issues and demands raised during the meeting would be reviewed in consultation with the Tribal Welfare Minister and relevant officials.

Emphasis on Proper Upbringing in Hostels

A key part of the discussion focused on the welfare of children residing in hostels across the state. The Chief Minister stressed that there should be no shortcomings in their upbringing, education, or access to basic facilities.

He noted that organizations managing or supporting hostels carry an important responsibility in ensuring that children receive not only academic instruction but also guidance in values and discipline. The government, he said, would continue to stand by these organizations in strengthening support systems for young residents.

According to Dr. Saha, childhood and adolescence are crucial stages in building character. He urged NGOs to ensure that students are exposed to education that nurtures compassion, responsibility, and awareness of social duties.

Social Responsibility Beyond Politics

During the meeting, the Chief Minister underlined that meaningful social work does not require political involvement. He said community development can be achieved through sustained grassroots engagement, especially in areas related to education and social awareness.

Highlighting the importance of representation and leadership, he referred to President Droupadi Murmu, noting her roots in the tribal community and her role in serving the nation. He described her journey as an example of how individuals from diverse backgrounds can contribute significantly to national life.

Dr. Saha also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his vision of building a developed India by 2047. He said today’s students will be central to realizing that goal and must therefore be prepared with both knowledge and a sense of civic duty.

Education as a Bridge to Opportunity

Calling education a transformative force, the Chief Minister described it as a bridge that connects ignorance with knowledge and uncertainty with clarity. He emphasized that academic instruction alone is not sufficient; moral education and ethical values are equally vital.

He encouraged NGOs to incorporate lessons on social responsibility, honesty, and community service alongside formal education. According to him, nurturing these qualities from an early age will help create a generation capable of contributing meaningfully to society.

The meeting concluded with participation from representatives of several tribal organizations, who shared their experiences and suggestions related to youth development and welfare programs. The state government reiterated its willingness to work in coordination with civil society groups to improve educational and social outcomes in tribal communities.

As Tripura continues to focus on inclusive growth, the collaboration between government institutions and voluntary organizations is expected to remain a key part of its broader development strategy.
