Energy – IndianOil Maintains Stable LPG Supply Amid Rising Demand Concerns
Energy – Indian Oil Corporation on Friday confirmed that the supply of cooking gas across the country continues without interruption, with approximately 28 lakh LPG cylinders being delivered daily. The company stated that its operations are functioning at normal levels and that there is no cause for concern regarding availability.

Supply Operations Continue Without Disruption
According to the state-owned oil marketing company, LPG distribution networks are operating smoothly despite ongoing global uncertainties. Officials emphasized that logistical systems and supply chains remain intact, ensuring that households receive cylinders on time. The company reiterated that there is no shortage of domestic gas and discouraged consumers from placing unnecessary bulk bookings.
IndianOil noted that it has been closely monitoring supply patterns and demand trends to maintain consistency across regions. With a strong distribution framework in place, the company said it is capable of meeting current consumption needs efficiently.
Digital Booking Becomes the Preferred Mode
The company highlighted a significant shift toward digital platforms for LPG bookings. Nearly 87 percent of customers now use services such as SMS and IVRS to place their orders. To enhance transparency and ensure correct delivery, each cylinder is verified using an OTP-based authentication system at the time of handover.
This system helps confirm that the cylinder reaches the intended recipient while also reducing the risk of delivery errors. IndianOil added that customer service teams remain active through official channels to resolve complaints or queries related to bookings and deliveries.
Special Focus on Migrant Workers
In addition to regular domestic consumers, IndianOil stated that it is continuing the supply of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders to migrant workers. These smaller cylinders are being distributed through authorized channels against valid identification, making them accessible to individuals who may not have permanent residential addresses.
Officials explained that this initiative is aimed at ensuring that all sections of society, particularly vulnerable groups, have access to clean cooking fuel. The company said that such measures are part of its broader effort to promote inclusive energy distribution.
Monitoring Measures to Prevent Misuse
To maintain fairness in supply, IndianOil said it is enforcing strict checks across its distribution network. Authorized distributors are being monitored to prevent any diversion of cylinders or involvement in black marketing. The company stressed that ensuring equitable access to LPG remains a top priority.
Consumers have been advised to book cylinders only through official platforms and to opt for OTP-based delivery confirmation. These steps are intended to improve safety and reliability in the distribution process.
Warning Against Misinformation and Unsafe Practices
The company also addressed concerns about misleading information circulating on social media. It urged people not to rely on unverified claims regarding LPG shortages or disruptions. IndianOil clarified that such rumors are unfounded and could lead to unnecessary panic among consumers.
Additionally, the company warned against unsafe practices such as storing petrol in open containers or bottles. It emphasized that such actions are not only hazardous but also violate safety regulations.
IndianOil reassured the public that it continues to prioritize consumer needs and is fully equipped to handle current demand levels. With stable supply systems and ongoing monitoring, the company maintained that LPG availability across the country remains secure and dependable.
