Focus on Expanding Educational Access

The newly proposed Sainik School aims to promote values such as discipline, leadership, and national pride among students. In addition, the government plans to expand access to central education institutions by facilitating the establishment of 10 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the national capital.

The budget allocation for education has seen a slight increase compared to the previous year’s Rs 19,291 crore, reflecting continued prioritisation of the sector. Officials stated that the funding is intended to strengthen infrastructure, improve access, and enhance overall learning outcomes.

New Policy to Regulate Play Schools

A “Private Play Schools Policy” is set to be introduced to bring uniformity and oversight to early childhood education centres. The policy will establish a regulatory framework aimed at maintaining standards across private play schools.

In addition, the government plans to develop a shared library infrastructure supported by a digital library system. This initiative is expected to ensure that students from all backgrounds have equal access to educational resources, both physical and digital.

Investment in Health and Student Welfare

The budget also outlines provisions for improving student welfare. A sum of Rs 5 crore has been allocated to set up medical rooms in all government schools, ensuring that basic healthcare facilities are available on campus.

Further, Rs 2 crore has been earmarked to establish creche facilities in government offices, staffed by trained caregivers. This move is expected to support working parents and create a more inclusive work environment.

Technology Integration in Learning Systems

To modernise education delivery, the government has proposed an allocation of Rs 10 crore for integrating artificial intelligence into assessment methods, examination systems, and personality development programmes. Officials believe that the use of AI can help create more efficient evaluation processes and personalised learning experiences.

Additionally, Rs 5 crore has been set aside for exposure visits, allowing students from government schools to gain practical knowledge and broader perspectives through educational trips.

Support for Infrastructure and Innovation

Out of the total allocation, Rs 19,148 crore has been specifically designated for education-related initiatives. This includes Rs 200 crore for constructing new school buildings and Rs 275 crore for expanding existing infrastructure to accommodate growing student numbers.

The government has also proposed Rs 1.5 crore for promoting innovative teaching practices and organising exposure visits for students enrolled in CM Shri Schools. These initiatives aim to improve teaching methodologies and provide students with enriched learning experiences.

Emphasis on Inclusive Growth

Officials highlighted that the overall budget reflects a balanced approach, combining infrastructure development, policy reform, and technological advancement. The focus remains on creating an inclusive and equitable education system that caters to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

With these measures, the Delhi government seeks to strengthen the foundation of its education system while preparing students for future challenges through improved facilities, modern tools, and expanded opportunities.
