Drone – Security Forces Intensify Search After Suspected Drone Activity Near Border
Drone – Security agencies began a large-scale search on Tuesday after reports of a suspected Pakistani drone flying near the International Border in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials familiar with the operation.

Authorities said the suspicious aerial movement was noticed late Monday night over the Daboh area, a location situated close to the sensitive border zone. The alert immediately triggered a coordinated response from security forces who moved quickly to assess the situation and prevent any potential threat.
Drone Movement Triggers Immediate Security Response
Officials stated that personnel monitoring the border detected unusual movement believed to be a drone originating from across the border. Following the detection, security units initiated precautionary measures and increased surveillance in the surrounding areas.
Additional forces were deployed overnight, and search teams began combing nearby fields and open land to determine whether any items had been dropped from the air. Security agencies often conduct such searches to rule out the possibility of weapons, ammunition, or narcotics being delivered using unmanned aerial vehicles.
The suspected drone reportedly moved over the general area of Daboh before disappearing from surveillance. Although the object could not be immediately tracked further, officials said it raised enough concern to justify a full-scale security sweep.
Joint Operation by Army, Police and BSF
A coordinated search effort involving the Army, local police and the Border Security Force (BSF) is currently underway. Teams from the three agencies are scanning the region carefully to identify any suspicious objects or materials that may have been left behind.
Security personnel are examining farmland, water channels, and isolated patches of land where dropped items could potentially be concealed. Officials said such operations are standard procedure whenever drone activity is detected near the border.
Authorities have also increased vigilance in nearby villages and have advised residents to immediately report any unusual objects or suspicious movement. Local communities often play an important role in alerting security forces during such incidents.
Additional Searches Conducted in Nearby Areas
Along with the Daboh search operation, officials confirmed that separate search activities were launched in several other locations in the Rajpura area of the district. Police and BSF teams began inspections early Tuesday morning in Bhai Nallah, Lala Chack and Malani after receiving information about possible suspicious movement.
Security personnel conducted door-to-door inquiries in some areas and inspected nearby fields and drainage channels as part of precautionary measures. However, officials did not immediately confirm whether any suspicious materials had been recovered during these searches.
Authorities said the operations are part of a routine security protocol aimed at preventing infiltration attempts and cross-border smuggling. Drones have increasingly been used in recent years along the border to transport illegal items such as weapons or narcotics.
Increased Vigilance Along the International Border
Security forces remain on high alert along the International Border in the Jammu region due to recurring incidents involving suspected drone sightings. Officials noted that advanced surveillance systems and patrol units continue to monitor border areas around the clock.
While investigations into the latest incident are still ongoing, officials emphasized that precautionary operations are necessary to ensure that no security risk remains in the region.
Search teams are expected to continue scanning the area until authorities are satisfied that no illegal materials were dropped and that the situation poses no further threat to local security.
