DelhiExciseCase – Court Clears K Kavitha in Policy Probe

DelhiExciseCase –  K Kavitha, founder of Telangana Jagruthi and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has been cleared by a Delhi court in connection with the alleged excise policy irregularities, marking a significant turn in a case that has drawn national attention.

Delhi excise case kavitha cleared

In her first public reaction after the ruling, Kavitha wrote “Satyameva Jayate” on social media, signalling her relief and asserting that the truth had prevailed.

Court Ruling Brings Legal Relief

The decision came from a court in the national capital, which found no evidence of wrongdoing against Kavitha in the excise policy matter. The case, which had been under investigation for several months, revolved around alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of Delhi’s liquor policy.

Addressing reporters shortly after the verdict, Kavitha said the judiciary had “seen through the allegations” and dismissed what she described as unfounded claims. She maintained that the court had categorically stated there were no irregularities linked to her in the policy’s execution.

According to her, the case lacked credibility from the outset. She reiterated that the accusations were politically motivated and insisted that the legal process had now validated her stand.

Allegations of Political Motive

Kavitha alleged that the case was initiated as part of a broader political agenda aimed at targeting her and her family. She described the investigation as a “conspiracy” designed to damage her reputation and create public suspicion.

“The case was filed for political reasons,” she told journalists, adding that she had consistently maintained her innocence. Kavitha further claimed that attempts were made to malign her through sustained campaigns during the course of the probe.

She also questioned those who, in her view, had used the case to criticise and harass her. With the court’s ruling in her favour, she said, it was time for her critics to reflect on their allegations.

Months in Custody and Bail

Kavitha was arrested in March 2024 in connection with corruption and money laundering charges linked to the Delhi excise policy investigation. The arrest led to her being lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi as the probe continued.

On August 29, 2024, the Supreme Court granted her bail in the related cases, allowing her release after several months in custody. The bail order had provided temporary relief, but the final court ruling now closes a key chapter in the legal proceedings against her.

Throughout the investigation and court hearings, the case remained politically sensitive, given Kavitha’s association with Telangana Jagruthi and her father’s prominent role in state politics.

Faith in the Judicial System

Expressing gratitude to those who supported her during what she described as a difficult period, Kavitha said the outcome reaffirmed her faith in India’s judicial institutions. She stated that she had trusted the courts to examine the evidence impartially and deliver justice.

“This verdict strengthens my belief in the judiciary,” she said, adding that the relief felt like a blessing after months of legal uncertainty.

The excise policy case had sparked debate in political circles and generated extensive media coverage. With the court now clearing her of the allegations, attention is likely to shift toward the broader political implications of the investigation and its aftermath.

For Kavitha, however, Friday’s ruling marked the end of a prolonged legal battle and the beginning of what she described as a renewed commitment to public life.
