Crime – Woman Found Dead in Bed Box at Delhi PG, Three Arrested
Crime – A 35-year-old woman was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances inside a bed storage box at a paying guest accommodation in Delhi’s Mangolpuri area, prompting a swift police investigation that has led to three arrests.

Body Discovered Inside PG Accommodation
According to police officials, the incident came to light on Tuesday after authorities received information about a woman’s body hidden inside a double bed box at a property located in the Patthar Market locality of Mangolpuri. Responding officers reached the site and found that the premises were being operated as a paying guest facility on the third floor of a residential building.
Inside one of the rooms, the body of a woman was recovered from within the bed storage compartment. Initial observations revealed marks around her neck, indicating possible strangulation, along with an injury on her forehead. The discovery immediately raised suspicion of foul play.
Forensic Teams Gather Evidence
Soon after the recovery, both crime scene investigators and forensic experts were called to examine the location thoroughly. They documented evidence, collected samples, and began reconstructing the sequence of events that led to the woman’s death.
Police later confirmed that the deceased was a resident of the same Mangolpuri area. Early inquiries suggested that she had been in a relationship with a man named Deepak for several months prior to the incident. Investigators believe the nature of this relationship could be central to understanding the case.
Timeline of Events Before the Incident
Authorities revealed that on the day of the incident, the woman had visited the PG accommodation and met Deepak at around 4:30 pm. The two reportedly remained inside the room for approximately an hour. After Deepak left the premises, the situation unfolded, eventually leading to the discovery of the body.
The owner of the PG, identified as Amarjeet, reportedly noticed unusual circumstances following the man’s departure and alerted the police. His statement is being treated as a key part of the investigation.
Arrest of Three Accused
Following preliminary findings, police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to murder and attempts to conceal evidence. Acting on leads gathered during the investigation, three individuals—Deepak, Surendra (also known as Bobby), and Joginder—were taken into custody. All three are residents of the Mangolpuri area.
Officials stated that the arrests were made after analyzing initial evidence and questioning individuals connected to the victim. The role of each accused is being examined in detail to establish how the crime was carried out.
CCTV Footage and Call Records Under Review
As part of the ongoing investigation, police teams are reviewing CCTV footage from the PG accommodation as well as nearby locations. This is expected to help reconstruct the movements of the victim and the accused before and after the incident.
In addition, call detail records of both the victim and the accused have been obtained. Investigators are examining communication patterns to determine whether there were any prior disputes or planning involved.
Investigation Continues
Police officials have stated that the inquiry is still underway and that further details will emerge as evidence is analysed. The exact motive behind the crime has not yet been established, and authorities are working to piece together all aspects of the case.
The incident has drawn attention to safety concerns in informal accommodation setups such as paying guest facilities, where monitoring and regulation may be limited. Officials have assured that all angles are being explored to ensure a thorough investigation.
