Crime – Teen Arrests After Fatal Stabbing in West Delhi
Crime – Two juveniles have been taken into custody following the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy in the Khyala area of West Delhi, according to police officials.

Incident Reported Near Community Centre
The violence unfolded on Monday evening in an open ground close to a community centre in C Block, Khyala. Authorities said they received a Police Control Room (PCR) call at approximately 8:45 pm reporting that a boy had been attacked.
Responding officers reached the scene and found the injured teenager suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. He was immediately transported to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that the deceased has been identified as Sohail, a minor resident of the locality.
Altercation Led to Attack, Say Police
Preliminary findings indicate that the stabbing followed a dispute among the boys gathered at the open space. During questioning, the two apprehended minors reportedly told investigators that a verbal argument escalated into violence, culminating in the fatal assault.
Investigators are examining the sequence of events that led to the confrontation. Officers have also reviewed CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the neighbourhood to piece together the moments before and after the incident.
Officials have not disclosed further details about the nature of the quarrel, citing the ongoing inquiry.
Background of the Accused Minors
Police described both detained individuals as Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs), a legal term used for juveniles involved in criminal cases. Authorities said that both boys had discontinued their education.
One of the minors comes from a family facing financial hardship. His father has passed away, and his mother works as a domestic helper to support the household. The other boy’s parents are employed at a local factory.
Officers stated that counselling and further legal procedures under the Juvenile Justice Act are being followed as part of the case.
Family Mourns Loss
Sohail’s death has left his family devastated. His father works as a tailor, and he is survived by two brothers — one older and one younger. Neighbours described the family as quiet and hardworking.
The incident has sparked concern among residents about safety in open public spaces where children often gather in the evenings. Local authorities have assured that patrols in the area will be intensified as part of preventive measures.
Investigation Continues
Police officials said forensic teams examined the crime scene, and evidence collected will be analyzed to support the case. Statements from witnesses are being recorded, and investigators are verifying the timeline through digital and physical evidence.
Authorities emphasized that the matter is being handled in accordance with juvenile law provisions, given the age of both the accused and the victim.
The case has once again drawn attention to rising concerns around youth violence in parts of the national capital. Law enforcement agencies have reiterated the importance of community awareness and early intervention to prevent such tragic outcomes.
