Police Operation Under Anti-Gang Campaign

The arrests were made as part of a targeted drive launched by the state police to curb organized crime activities. Senior Superintendent of Police Varun Sharma, while addressing reporters, said the operation was conducted under a special initiative aimed at dismantling gangster networks and reducing violent confrontations between rival groups.

According to Sharma, the campaign has been focusing on identifying individuals involved in planning violent crimes and taking preventive action before such incidents occur. The latest arrests are being seen as a key outcome of these efforts.

Accused Linked to Planned Gang-Related Violence

Police investigations revealed that the four suspects were allegedly preparing to carry out a major criminal act connected to an ongoing gang dispute. Authorities believe that swift intervention helped avert a potentially dangerous situation that could have escalated into violence.

Three of the arrested individuals — identified as Sourav, Sajan, and Inderjit — are known to law enforcement agencies and have been previously booked in multiple criminal cases. Their involvement in past offenses had already placed them under surveillance.

The fourth individual, who hails from Bihar, is also suspected to have links with the group, although officials are still verifying his role and background in the broader network.

Weapons Seized During Arrest

During the operation, police recovered a total of ten weapons from the accused. Officials have not yet disclosed the exact type of weapons seized, but confirmed that the recovery played a crucial role in establishing the intent behind the planned crime.

The seizure of arms is considered a major success, as it directly prevented their potential use in violent activities. Authorities stated that such recoveries are vital in weakening criminal groups and disrupting their operational capacity.

Legal Action Initiated Against Accused

Following the arrests, a formal case has been registered against all four individuals under Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Police officials indicated that further investigation is underway to determine whether additional individuals are connected to the case.

SSP Sharma emphasized that the police remain committed to taking strict action against those involved in organized crime. He noted that preventive policing and intelligence-based operations are central to maintaining law and order in the region.

Ongoing Efforts to Tackle Gang Activity

The latest development highlights the continuing challenge posed by gang-related activities in certain parts of the state. Police authorities have been intensifying their efforts through dedicated campaigns, surveillance, and coordinated action to dismantle such networks.

Officials also reiterated their appeal to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information that could help prevent crime. They stressed that timely inputs from citizens often play a crucial role in ensuring swift action.

Further details regarding the case are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
